Just finished an agonising hour or so on the phone to various call centres to have no result...

1st call: Hung up on/Dropped out after being on hold for 10 minutes and then answered.
2nd call: No hold, explain situation to first person to answer from QFF and am then transferred to another representative where I try to explain the situation. She has no idea what this is about and informs me she's from reservations so no idea how I ended up there? Transferred back to QFF and she's been told I want to update my details(?!). Again explain what I'm after and following considerable back and forth I'm told that QFF can't do anything. This is all handled by a mysterious back end team that can only be reached by email and was told there is significant delays in processing. So the QFF rep has sent an email on my behalf but I won't be holding my breath...

I just can't comprehend how the system is so broken that some members here have been son fortunate to have it show up anywhere from 1-7 days while others are waiting 6+ weeks to get this sorted out.

Interesting development last night, I received this email from Qantas saying I have 0 categories left! Both app and website still showing 4/5 leaves though and no points deducted so definitely some kind of breakdown in their system.

Interesting… I requested offset about 3 weeks ago for an existing booking, took the flights last week, and just noticed that they didn’t deduct the points
Same situation as me. I hope Qantas can retroactively apply it. I am abroad for the next 6 months now and not sure when I will fly Qantas again for another chance to offset.

So strange so my experience is - when I went in to buy the carbon offset months after the booking was made and before I took the flight - NOTHING then last night I made a booking next April chose the carbon offset at time of booking then this morning it ticked over with the leaf.....so in future I will chose the offset at time of booking not after....the system is a mess

I may be wrong, but I think the multiple examples are all people who've applied the offset via MMB after the booking has been created? I was in the same boat and offset a flight using this method months ago. I never received the leaf, so when booking a new flight I lashed out and spent another $1 which applied the leaf virtually immediately (same day)
I did my offset at the time of booking, no green leaf. Then subsequently had to cancel the flight. so that's a whole other thing... I'm not sure about the others in thread.

I did my offset at the time of booking and got a green leaf. My plans subsequently changed (due to Covid, I expect) and I had to cancel the flight. But my disappointment was ameliorated by the knowledge that I had helped to offset the carbon of the flight that had to leave without me.

I had the same problems. Kept a photo of my request, which was after my booking and so far, two months and about 20 emails later, I still have got no where!

Have booked another flight and the leaf appeared after two days.

I wonder if i could book a cheap flight and pay for the offset, and cancel the flight when it applies the green leaf. It's the last one I need.

I booked a classic reward flight and the carbon offset, got the leaf, cancelled the flight - fees and points refunded

Emailed Qantas, the reply:

For the Offset Flight, you have to take the flight first. After 7 Days, it will be posted on your Green Tier progress
My reply "I took the flight on 17 June, that is 13 days ago."
Ignoring that the original offset flight was back in April

Oh FFS just spring for another dollar and book another flight.
Really? Just throw good money after bad?
I've already paid up and didn't get the promised outcome. So you think I should just spend again. And if I don't get the green tick then? Is your advice to spend again? and again? and again? If the same issue continues do I keep going with the gamble? When do I stop? How much do I need to spend before you think it's acceptable for me to ask Qantas to follow through on their scheme?

Or should I manage the risk of the same thing happening and follow up on service delivery by the provider for a paid service? Perhaps if you feel so strongly about it, how about you take the risk and pay for my carbon offset?

What's that thing about doing the same thing and expecting a different outcome???
I'm really sorry if your support of Qantas has been offended by me following up about this and reporting the outcome for the benefit of others...

Your money, your call. I value my time at more than a dollar an email. Other people seem to have booked flights and offsets and got the green leaf, so that's grounds enough to hope for a different outcome.

Indeed, my money, my call...
Your assumption about the cost of my flight offset is incorrect, but plenty of examples in this thread of failures.
I'm sure I can spare the 15 seconds to send back the reply in my post above...
