Qantas Green frequent flyer tier

Once you reach Green Tier how do you claim the bonus SC? I assumed you’d be sent an email or the option would appear on the Green Tier webpage

It looks like the carbon neutral flight booking can only be done through the Qantas Website.

I will put the new booking on hold hoping that a DSC offer comes up later this month. Could happen.

And i cant see anyway to add it to an existing booking online, which seems short sighted, as you can add other costs post booking including extra baggage etc.

Thanks both.

Yeah our coughpy corporate TA tool doesn’t allow you to offset flights, it’s so 20 years ago (a SAP system surprise surprise!).

And also Lynda I agree you should be able to offset yourself post booking. Great idea.

I’m going to write a letter to Qantas to get it put in the sandbox!

I've been wondering the same things myself - I've had the 5 green leaves for 2 days now and no button or link for the bonus 50 SC yet....

For people using corporate travel booking systems - is there a way to add carbon neutral flying after you book, if there isn’t an option when you book?
The fine print suggests this should be possible, or will be when the proverbial WE kids get around to it:

In order to be recognised for the Green tier activity, Qantas Frequent Flyer members must tick ‘Fly Carbon Neutral’ on eligible flights during the booking process or in My Account

In practice, no I can’t see a place to do so in My Account. Yet.

Ironically ignoring the environmental implications, not being able to just add the carbon offset to an existing booking forces (at least in the short term) people to make another flight booking to check the box, meaning more revenue for QF.

Which I would anyway which is fine, it doesn’t bother me I would just like to offset our work travel more easily (but that’s a whole other topic).

I’m about to book another tonne of work travel with QFd so I’ll see what it does to My bookings after that…. But if it doesn’t appear I’ll write to QF as an idea.

Offset a flight to LRE for May late last week, so just waiting for that final leaf to turn green and I can claim a bonus. Like many I expect, I may have accidentally chosen TAS as the state I live in :p

Cynics would suggest this is why the ability to offset an existing booking disappeared at some point in the last ~18 months.

Well, I have made the requisite transactions. I am hoping that this will land up as about $17 plus 2,900 points for a gain of 10,000 points - so a net cost of $17 for 7,100 miles.

I doubt they would care. They are using the purchase to buy carbon credits (so it should be cash neutral for them) l and they can say they have got x people to offset their homes and it doesn’t matter much whether those people were honest about where they lived. The green leaf icons are fig leaves.

I've filled out the web form to contact the status team, hopefully I have some luck with claiming my "reward"

Dear Forum, Is it possible to gain green tier without flying or staying in an eco hotel? If so how? I can achieve the other 4 categories however i'm not travelling for a little while.
Thanks in advance.
