Qantas from Hobart to London via Perth - has anyone done it?

That’s what @Flyingwombat did. Flew in and flew out again! 😁

Shame there doesn’t appear to be additional Y+ seats fitted…😔

If the numbers are there, you’d think it was an ideal route for an A220?
The last time they did it, they used 737s. I reckon there is demand and I would think a business cabin and Y+ seating would be attractive especially if connecting to premium cabins on the Europe bound services. I wouldn’t do this route if I had paid for business but for premium economy I would.

I’m flying to ASP later in the year and all 4 sectors are on A220s - why don’t they put them on this route that is longer?

I will say the network aviation staff were great. Kept offering drinks, snacks and even seconds of the meal. Qantas mainline domestic staff should do this flight and learn what service is…

As someone who does HBA-LHR 3-4 times a year I'm impressed - both by the sale fare you got for W and your description @Flyingwombat . Most of mine are in Y so I prefer the HBA-MEL-SIN-LHR even though it adds quite a few hours. I'll keep an eye out for the next sale!
I don’t think I can go all way through in Y… getting too old!! It was a great fare. Qantas W is the best I’ve tried. Vietnam and China Airlines are pretty good and Cathay is great but Qantas actually have the all round package. And I’m not a huge fan of them these days.
Yes! Totally agree. We did PER-LHR last August and I was not at all convinced beforehand that such a long flight would be to my liking, but it was excellent and I would definitely do it again. The opportunity to get a long stretch of uninterrupted sleep was amazing.

And thanks for coming back to report how it played out - I love knowing how things ended up!
I was straight into UK time zone- a great way to fly over. Pity business is so pricey - one day!
