"Shiraz or Cab/Sav?" "BOTH!"
. Its a bit like asking "what kind of music do you like?" ... "Both kinds - country and western".

I hope you were given two glasses and not a single glass of half-n-half.

No - if there's one thing the Qantas FA's should know what to do, it's provide alcohol in the correct manner. Most of them have probably served more drinks than your average CBD bar-staff.

Cheers,

Anyone notice a slight improvement (in my opinion) in meals in the last week?

NOTE: All Y, generally 7.30am or 5.30pm flights so no Hot Meals.

I do the MLB-SYD-MLB Mon to Friday run so I'm used to a standard tub of cereal, a banana, milk and Frusion juice. The add-on was a small bun with butter (no butter if a shared AA flgiht for some reason). Today it was a nice (probably very fattening) Sara Lee muffin.

On the way back from Syd-Mel I usually get some sort of breadstick/tomato based biscuit combo (I usually refise to get when I see it) or a twin pack of Pretsels and cashew nuts.

This time I got two very delicious cookies, also very fattening, but was a good suger boost since I was feeling a bit tired.

I've been flying the last 3 months and had not noticed any changes until last week so was hoping to see more come through.

Anyone else notice changes in the food for domestic flights?

Regards
Daniel

Yes I have noticed the same - a nice change for the better in QF domestic economy food over the last month. Thought I just may have lucked out but has happened three times in a row now so think its a definite improvement!

It was pretty good again (that is, compared to before) on the flight this evening. So I think I should conclude that the last couple of weeks' improvement wasn't just a fluke.

I fly Y BNE-CNS-HID return about 6 times a year and find that the food is generally pretty good. If on the morning flight BNE-CNS the usual cereal, bun, banana, juice breakfast is served, except for the last time i flew 3 weeks ago where a ski yoghurt replaced the banana. I find this a quite accpetable meal, and always ask for a second juice, the apple mango passionfruit is really nice! On the CNS-HID flight there is always a roll/panini that is generally ok, but usually the bun is a little stale and someties soggy if there is tomato on it, and they could do with more relish on them.

Sorry for going OT, again, but wanted to mention something that bothered me but may not affect other people.

I was in the SIN Skyview lounge last Tuesday having a drink before next flight when I noticed a man taking the stuffed olives out of the fridge and with the spoon provided put one in his drink. Gin and Tonic?

They were left outside and this french speaking lady who had just entered the lounge used her fingers to grab an olive from bowl. She then used spoon provided to put some olives into her plate, then she used her fork to take another olive from bowl and put this in her mouth and then did so again with same fork. She went to sit on the other side with her friend and came back a few minutes later looking for something and again twice used her fingers taking olive from bowl.

I complained to lady at the front desk and also pointed the person involved to her. Not sure what eventuated.

Why do people bring their sick disgusting eating habits into public places. Do not know any better? Do not care? Have some consideration. Makes me think twice about eating anything in the lounge that is not wrapped.

Sorry if I have offended anyone.

It does affect me. I hate poor food handling practices like this and poor hygiene in general. I never cease to be amazed at the number of guys I see walking straight out of the loos without washing their hands. If I thought about it too much I reckon I'd end up with OCD.

However I don't think much can be done about this aside from having a lounge staff member assigned to patrol the food areas. Sizzler restaurants have someone permanently stationed at the salad bar at all times now after that person in Brisbane deliberately contaminated some food some months ago. But I doubt that airlines could afford to have somone stationed there all day/night keeping watch.

An American, and Emglishman and an Australian are all peeing together at a urinal. They all finish at the same time.

The American goes to the washbasin and takes along time to wash his hands, using a lot of soap and water.

"In America, we are taught the values of good hygiene" he remarks.

The Englishman walks up and washes his hands, using a miniscule amount of soap and water.

"In England, we are taught how to be efficient" he says.

The Australian walks straight out, saying "In Australia, we are taught how to go to the toilet without p1ss1ng on our hands!"

(Sorry folks, I had been dying to use that one).

Last Friday 28th July in SIN QF J lounge the same thing happened. A lady walks up to the counter and starts sampling the dishes with her fingers and then decides to take a plate and use the utensils provided.

If they are not careful they will have people getting sick, although hopefully not as bad a sizzler. Most gastroenteritis diseases can be passed through saliva. Fork/spoon in mouth and then dip into food and repeat process.

QF have 3 people at the front desk in SIN. Isn't that 2 people too many. One can go on regular patrols through the lounge.
