The morning started out with a pretty simple to do list. Book a QF flight. When I searched the flight on Chrome I immediately get the message "500 - that's an error on our end...try reloading the page".

Tried again, then tried on Chrome incognito, then tried on Edge. All the same. went off and did something else. Came back and same errors.

Tried on my phone, Qantas app. Same error. Tried on 5G, 4G and wifi.

It lets me put in the To/from city, the dates etc. The error happens after I try Search for flights.

Anyone else encountering this this moring?

Having the same issue trying to do a online check in for tomorrow.

Edit: Error page, now has a banner to say they are having issues.
Thank you to captain obvious.

And you got the point in the first line. It's not you, it's them :)

a 500 error is a server side problem and no amount of trying different access methods etc usually will resolve it (but full marks for trying so many permutations). Typically caused by the server process receiving an unexpected or error response from a call to another process. For example querying an internal system. Just a guess.

some sort of backend process is obviously in a very bad way. Hopefully work experience kids are onto it and hopefully sorted soon.

Yeah, can't book a flight at all at the moment.

Perhaps it's an enhancement from Qantas to bring the level of service provided by the website in line with the call centre and the airport. You know, for cross-platform consistency. ;)

This isn't the only problem reported with the Qantas website this morning:
