Qantas First Class Mercedes-Maybach Chauffeur SYD, T1 - T3

During the three-month trial running from September to November, a Qantas host will meet “eligible passengers” on arrival, escorting them through the airport and onto a waiting Mercedes-Maybach for a scenic airside ride from Terminal 1 to Terminal 3.

T1 > T3 seems a bit strange... why not reverse as well - also how do they find the Pax after customs, from the QF Bag drop?

From T3 > T1 would be meet at airbridge and escort - would've thought this would be much easier.

Whilst they're at it... maybe separate entrance at SYD for F pax? If you're going to be the SYD airline, might as well make your SYD experience and actual F experience.

Perhaps if its empty enough or CR+Status. I mean if you're holding a F CR and P1, I'd hope QF would qualify you- or maybe just P1 in general in the future.

A380 F -> Customs -> Security -> Airside Bus -> Dash-8 Economy

it'll be

A380 F -> Customs -> Security -> Airside Car -> Dash-8 Economy

I'd prefer they enhanced the experience by putting the jet service with J cabin back on the SYD-CBR connecting flight, but I guess a free marketing loan of an electric Mercedes is a good runner-up prize.

I assume they only have one car, so it'll be the highest-ranking pax on any given flight who ends up on the trial. Given the type of vehicle it'll be 2 pax plus hand luggage maximum, so flying with my family would rule us out anyway.

Sadly my next planned solo F trip with QF isn't until December so I'll miss the trial even if selected.

The transfer is airside so I’m assuming it would only work from the domestic transfer area as you’d need to drop your bags and be rescreened so that would be the easiest place.

The announcement appears to indicate its T1 to T3, so international to domestic

Sorry to clarify I was referring to the domestic transfer area at the international terminal, where you go to recheck your bags after arriving from overseas. I’m guessing this is where you would be met.

My guess is something similar to LAX.
Meet at A380 F aerobridge, escort through to passport control, wait at luggage belt if required, escort to domestic transfer bus area and drop bags if required.
Clear security, go straight to private car, drop off into domestic terminal. <--- This last part is not offered at LAX for obvious reasons.
