Qantas FF and Woolworths create new loyalty alliance

Last time around they came in batches. This time it seems I'm in one of the later batches. (Unless their system has gone as reliable as their regular offer newsletter in which case I won't get anything at all.)

A simple excel sheet that I knocked up to work out the points earn on EDR. Also has a fuel earn points calculation to show if you are better off with "extra points" or fuel bonus (once you have committed to trading fuel discount to FF points)

In the example on the attached, you can see that the choice of 12 cents voucher rather than a fixed 300 bonus points for me recently earns significantly more points if using the full 150L voucher limit...

Could only manage 1016 points with tonight's refueling of the two Family cars... Even with two large cars, still quite an effort to use the 150L limit...

Tonight's Summary: -
138L @ 6 pts/l (12 cent fuel voucher converted to points) = 828 points
QEDRCC @ 1pt /$ = 188

My points correction reveals I spent nearly as much on booze at BWS as groceries at WW.

And 3 times as much on fuel (points instead of discounts).

I got more points from BWS than Woolworths, but they have been giving many more bonus offers at BWS.

You can get lots of points this week. You just have to buy lots and lots more Twinings - the offer works multiple times  So just keep going in and buying more!!

Buying tea (with the tea offer) at Woolworths works multiple times.

Fair enough. I stil need to work out what to get from Big W.

Here's some ideas & basically stuff you can buy from the supermarket, but to take up this offer just buy it from Big W instead of the supermarket...

Some ideas:
Cans of Coke
Laundry Powder / Liquid
Toiletries
Pet food
Mobile Phone Credit / Prepaid Broadband
Batteries
etc...you get the idea...

We find bulk buying Laundry Powder, Toilet Paper, Soft Drink and Pet Food at Big W is cheaper than Woolies and it helps get bonus points. It's a "No Brainer".

Same here, we're finally coming to the end of a batch of toilet rolls bought last quarter on the last offer, lol.

I also buy printer ink at Big W and might get some fireplace 'fuel' if they have anything along those lines to save a trip to bunnings.

As for tea, I'm not sure I need any more for at least a month but will consider it.

They mustn't like me now. Not only no weekly offers, but not even a quarterly statement/offer this time around.

Seriously poor form EDR.

IMHO the quarterly offers are pretty underwhelming this time around.

I got mine late this morning, so they do seem to be coming around in batches...might still be headed your way.

$201 spent in the correct way may earn the following
  • 700 points for "shopping at 3 or more stores - Woolworths Supermarkets, BWS & Big W"
  • 250 points for "Fresh food spend" Also included in the transaction for the first offer.
  • 200 points for "Soup, Coffee & Tea purchases" Also included in the transaction for the first offer.
  • 300 points for "$100 spend at Big W" Also included in the transaction for the first offer.
  • 2 points for ($31 spend at BWS - Double Points on $1) Also included in the transaction for the first offer.
So in total that's 1452 points for $201 spend, or an earn rate of around $0.138 per point...! not that bad for a "bonus" but a lot of shopping to earn the bonii :p

For example, last night filling two cars with fuel (and a 12 cent voucher converted to points) earns 828 points with only one $180 transaction...! Conclusion, the EOFY bonus might be more about hype than genuine bonus offers, generally the bonuses are nothing that special as docjames declares... I have to agree sadly.

EDIT: Forgot to add the standard EDR points to the above, I calculate this to be approximatly an additional 120 points. So in effect $201 for 1572 points or $0.1278 per point...!

If you shop at the above, then the bonii seem genuine, as to what you value the goods & points you purchase, its all up to the individuals values...

Quarterly statement for 2 different Everyday Rewards accounts with the same offer as everyone else except for the 700 bonus points offer for shopping at 3 stores.

No worthwhile incentive to spend more so it will be normal shopping this week and eagerly awaiting the next querterly statement. At least I got the double points offer on the weekend....

Just on the BWS spend. I noticed that they have 20% discount for 6+ bottles of wine and 5% for a registered EDR card. So I'm planning on $41 of wine for $30-ish.

Won't help for points, but I also found the 20% off on 6 bottles of beer or cider too. Ended up costing less for a 6-pack of mixed cider (Rekorderlig) than the 5 bottles I wanted to buy to make a qualifying spend. Win!

Hope to knock off WW tomorrow as part of weekly shop and both Big W and D¡ck Smith by the end of the week.

I got the same offer as you JohnK, 3 stores, 700 points. Same as always.

My offers arrived this morning - obviously in the 2nd or 3rd batch sent out.... Didn't get the 700 points for 3 stores purchases, which was the one I was hoping for. I might buy some tea and coffee as I'm low on these anyway, but otherwise I will only do my normal shopping this week. Might be visiting Coles as well :)

And wouldn't you also get an additional 1-1.5 points per dollar from your bank depending on card/program?(unless I missed that in there somewhere?)

That's another 201-300 points as well!
