I see a number of QantasLink Q400 flights for next week into WTB have been cancelled. Totally stuffed a few days break for the family, but worse is the indifference from Qantas who have no interest in helping. They rebooked us on the SYD-WTB return leg to the day before our MEL-SYD connection! Work that out ?

Considering it has nothing to do with QantasLink engineers...

Maybe the airline can use managers to bolster the engineer ranks - as they are doing for baggage handling.

Just a thought - if managers can work in a different role with (according to the airline) no expectation that this is on top of their normal roles - then why have managers at all.

Or, alternatively, exclusively hire managers so that they have the flexibility to deploy them to where they are needed!

The Qantas magic has certainly flown out the window. All we hear about Qantas is that many staff and contractors are offside with the top management.
We need to go to the AGM this year so the board of directors hear that it is time for a change to improve staff relations.
