BNE-MEL this week and QF's overwhelming is generous.
Never enjoyed so much legroom in 4A. Could barely reach Biz seat in front with my foot. Surely this can't last!

Maybe that's why it's reserved for P1! Interestingly it opened up as selectable for me as wp about 12 hours out of a flight this week, but I kept my seat in row ~6.
I had a curious scenario this week on the 321. Was sitting in 18C, flight was almost finished boarding, started chatting to a friendly pax in 18A, looked like we had a shadow up until boarding. But alas, a couple boarded just as the doors closed and had been allocated 18 BC. Never a nice feeling when someone shows you a boarding pass for the seat you're sitting in, made me feel quite gaslit.
FA advised I'd been moved to 17D, still had an aisle in economy plus which was appreciated for the 5 hour flight. Fortunately, didn't have to move bags or anything. But it was curious that somewhere between boarding and take off they've moved a boarded pax rather than either split this couple - there were a handful of available B and E seats elsewhere in the cabin - or allocated them to the empty final row at the back of the cabin. FA offered for me to move there after we reached cruise, but I declined, not wanting to move the bag or lose the legroom.
Unless the pax had an unknown need (opposed to want) to sit together - they appeared to be healthy young adults but you never know - all I can think is they had paid for Y+ and perhaps been allocated to this flight late, so service recovery was to move another, boarded pax to suit them.
