What are my chances of getting point earn corrected (as I'll hit a new tier so should get a bigger status bonus) when all these backdated DSCs land?

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I'm owed points to take me out of bronze for the first time. 6 to 28 April. Hopefully they start dropping today and I can experience platinum before my next trip.

That's a leap! Platinum from bronze

I'm expecting credits to push me to QF platinum from LTG but if SCs don't land, for my forthcoming trip this Sat i will rely on QR platinum to get me into MEL F lounge and AKL F lounge (EK lounge preferred over QF F in AKL)

I work in IT in application management. A basic script to process something like 2x DSC would be a script written years ago by a developer who probably no longer works there @ Qantas.

The script which would process these offers would be what you call a batch job which is run on an adhoc basis considering the unsurety of the promotion.

Anyway the script which runs would probably entail all the conditions required to fulfill the conditions of the promotion i.e select all Users who signed up for the promotion between date A+B etc etc. Logically Id think they would run this job perhaps 1 month after the promo ends, on a sunday night at 9pm etc. Depending how CPU intensive this job is its probably running in batches of QFF Numbers ranges to limit CPU load etc etc.

We could probably figure this out if someone posted QFF # with dates points applied but in general the point is that fixing a script which works is time intensive and these guys are probably already understaffed working on multiple projects so you dont just assign engineers on 200k+ to rewrite a script which works fine.
Why do they need to rewrite the script when:
1. Promo has been around for a few years;
2. No/Limited change on the actual rules each time;
3. Past experience seems to suggest once it's in place, it worked fine.

Assuming the above is correct, isn't the change required simply changing a few parameters in the original script sitting there for every other IT staff?

Sorry I'm no expert in IT🤓 and simply being curious😅...

Is there an AKL QF F lounge?

Well, I've had 30+ years in IT and I quite agree with you from a simplistic point of view. It should be just that simple - change the relevant date parameters to the current ones and basically that should be it more or less.

Why it's so complicated I have no idea. There may have been other upgrades to underlying systems potentially requiring other changes perhaps.. or they may have even rewritten for certain reasons some of us hope to have not happened lol..

but yes, it should more or less be rinse and repeat. Don't know why it seems to be so difficult, but I'm not in that ecosystem and never have been so possibly a very ignorant comment to make.

Fellow IT worker here and I similarly don’t see the inherent complexity (albeit from a helicopter perspective). What I struggle to understand is how this isn’t already configured and ready to go ahead of the campaign launching? Surely some marketing boffin didn’t just wake up one morning and think “…today looks like a great day to launch a DSC campaign to the world” and then secretly spring it on the entire Qantas organisation. It’s almost as if the marketing department has launched the program without any communication/collaboration with IT, leaving IT to try and figure out how to make it work after the fact?

…actually, come to think of it, it’s entirely possible that this is what transpired!! 😆

Ready. Fire. Aim.

Bonus SCs posted overnight for flights on Friday and Saturday. Still waiting on a number of April flights. Anyone else had catch up ones yet?

I've still only had the double SCs for a dom flight on 3 May and none yet from the preceding int flights in April that were on the same PNR.

Still nothing here also

No, I think its entirely certain that that's what's happened.

In respect to simply re-using 'scripts' that have been used before, I'm equally certain that they have. The scripts didn't work before, either. Seriously, has there ever been a Qantas DSC-type promo, flight credits, rescheduling etc etc ... anything that involves customer-facing IT, that has ever worked smoothly?

So is there any value to chasing it up with customer nonservice team yet?
Are they expecting us to earn it?

Or is it not possible to get the points credited yet?

Nothing here. Flying out next Monday evening and hoping (likely in vain) that the credits will post and push me over the line to WP so we can use the FLounge. Starting to get that sinking feeling…

Took a flight on 03MAY, got DSC on 04MAY. However, other flights that I took on 01,02 MAY have not received any DSCs yet.

Point to note - the 03MAY flight was a QF international flight and the flights taken 01, 02 MAY are domestic
Update to this:

1. International flight taken on 10MAY23, DSC credited on 11MAY23
2. No DSCs yet for all the 10 or so domestic legs taken in the past 2 weeks :(

That is sad @DejaBrew ... I'm sure you'd have done this before, if not, perhaps post in the lounge thread and someone can guest you in?

Flights taken on Friday 12/5 still haven't received DSCs.

Edit: Speak of the devil. They posted in the last 2 hours. Mix Intl and Dom booked via AMEX
