Qantas flies Alliance only Adelaide to Canberra.
《pedant hat》
QF flights on Alliance ADL-BNE qualify too, and probably elsewhere too
if there's a white roo on a red tail on the back of the plane it will earn* - everything else won't.
...except QF flights on Alliance which seem to not have QF tails a lot of the time. Every %^#× QF maxim has an obscure exception

Is it safe to assume that my gift cards that expire by the end of the year will be ok to use for this DSC promo?

er skip - I pointed this out very specifically. I know I waffle but that was a succinct post :p

I don’t think so, or at least I wouldn’t assume they do… flight credits and travel passes - yes - but the FAQs don’t make reference to Gift Vouchers. That said; they also don’t rule them out (systematically, I suppose they are very much like the flight credits, so maybe ok)

Sorry yes, it’s the last bit of flight credits I have from covid that I am in urgency of using

yep. Quite likely. Only knew that Canberra qualified as we’ve been on those flights.

Token effort. Just booked SYD-CHC (J with SYD 1st Lounge access) // ZQN-MEL-SYD J all as Classic Rewards for 83k pts and $267 each nets 162 SCs as PC. Alas no wide bodies apart from the very tempting but not in play EK A380 with lots of J availability and unfortunately the MEL-SYD A330 option was way too tight a connection… Anyway, a week away in Feb next year will be fun and also means we can probably book our winter 2024 Euro trip to straddle membership years and secure WP and kickstart the next year.

Qantas doesn’t have any ownership in Emirates and never will. They’ve never been included. Same with any other code share. I can’t answer why Jetstar has been excluded this time, that’s the only outlier. Qantas flies Alliance only Adelaide to Canberra. Qantas link same concept. I’ve received DSC on Qantas link.
@Pushka, I was looking today to get MEL-DRW and Alliance flights flights came up on ADL-DRW leg on E190.
Pity accommodation is top dollar for July 😒

Qantas flies Alliance only Adelaide to Canberra.
Absolutely false.

The QantasLink contract for Alliance is huge, covers most of the country and a heap of destinations. Why do you think QF is trying to buy them?

As far as I’m aware Qantas don’t codeshare on non-QantasLink Alliance flights, so you can be confident any Alliance flight on a QF number is included.

Any ideas to convert an existing previous U reward booking into a DSC booking, without risking the trip? Is it possible to have it bounce the PNR or cancel and rebook without any possible chance of losing the seats.

It works for an AS booking,
Thanks for this.

You've inspired me to add some AS-earning credit cards into the mix. Didn't realise they were such great value for domestic J redemptions. I've generally defaulted to BA.

Can't be guaranteed the seats will reappear. I chose to do this so booked an alternative first, and have decided just to keep that alternative booking instead

Nope. My meaning is that only alliance flies Adelaide to Canberra not that this was the only route that alliance flies. Ergo, Qantas flies Alliance only Adelaide to Canberra.

Sorry to say but I still can’t access the offer on either iPad,app or laptop and that’s across 2 accounts….can I ring Hobart to expedite?

Can you elaborate further as it might help us provide some guidance?

Isn't it 480?

Would you care to share the sale fare and routing?

I believe there's an argument (although possibly not a strong one) to be made that the "promotion period" is 29 March 2023 to 28 February 2024.
In years past, we used to be able to buy gift vouchers which generates a PNR and slowly use them throughout the year as the need for travel arise, still earning DSC. Not sure if I’m willing to risk this strategy with the current wording. Wondering also what happens if you do a flexi booking now and change itinerary later for flights within the 29 Mar 2023 to 28 Feb 2024 period thereby taking the gift voucher T&C out of the equation.
