Qantas double SCs

Took some flights on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Strangely, one of the double lots of SC for a flight on Tuesday posted on Friday. Nothing else though.

So I earned 320 over the 3 days and have so far managed an extra 15. Just waiting on the other 305, next week perhaps.

Similar scenario for me - JASA last Tuesday - took 2 days for normal SC's to post - last Fri only 0.5% of Tuesday's JASA legs posted with double SC - assume remainder of the SC's and loyalty bonus will post early this week.

Interesting that it wasn't just me then. Wondered as I recalled last year (as markis10 mentioned earlier in the thread) the script ran on Tuesdays, and this was a Friday.

Looking forward to my first loyalty bonus of the year next week anyway :)

Remainder of the double SC's and loyalty bonus posted this afternoon.

Flew BNE -> SYD -> JNB on Sunday 29th April. Normal SC's were posted the next day, still waiting for the Double SC's to appear :(

EDIT: Great, just checked my itinerary's, looks like my travel agent used the same airline reference she created in late March to book my tickets. Even though the itinerary totally changed and wasnt booked until 2nd April. I am guessing that means that I wont be getting any double SC's for this trip.....lovely !

Unfortunately it seems that way, as the QF system will see the booking as having been made before April. Bugger!

I have tried to see if this has been answered elsewhere in the thread and cant seem to find the answer. I have received two seperate double sc offers. I have an upcoming J trip to MNL going CBR-MEL-SYD-MNL for two people. It was booked before the dobule status credit offer. If I get QF to split the two passengers in the booking so I am on a seperate "new" PNR would that be sufficient to qualify for the offer or would the ticket issue date not let me. If that is the case, if I was to have the ticket reissued to CBR-SYD-MNL would that count as a reissue and then qualify for the double SC. Unfortunately I cannot do any further QF travel after this trip before my requalifying date so this may make a difference to my qualification for Platinum. Thanks in advance for any advice.

I doubt any changes to the booking would qualify short of cancel, refund then rebook.

I had a booking BNE-PER booked on a flexi in early March so obviously outside the qualifying period. The flights changed at least four times in April and were finally taken in mid-April but as they were not cancelled, merely moved, the QFF centre confirmed today the flights would not qualify for DSC. :(

You’d think the system would automatically look at the PNR and decide it was valid and credit you the DSC, however there could be more to it, and per the rules it wouldn’t qualify, so it’d be a big gamble. Plus how do you know your flights would end up with the new PNR… you might end up with the old one in fact :p

I tried -twice- to cancel and rebook a JASA to qualify for the double SC's. Clearly, the first CSA was onto me, as he tried everything to get me not to! In the result, by the time I actually found one who would do what I wanted, the very cheap JASA was gone!

I thought I saw it mentioned in one of the multitude of posts on this thread about this, but can't find it now. Is it possible to book a JASA for a SC run, but book two seats(ie. a comfort seat), and get 2 x points and SCs because of the extra seat(in same name) and THEN get another doubling of SCs for both seats because of the double SC promotion?

eg. a JASA run will normally net 200 SCs. Book two JASAs in same name and on same PNR(not sure if this is possible), so will get 400 SCs. Because of double status credits promotion, those 400 will become 800 SCs.

Thanks to this offer I am sitting pretty on 1240 SCs. One more return trip to Sydney and I will become WP for the first time :)

Thanks Qantas. I just made Gold for the first time with the DSC points posting from last Fridays flights :D

Next stop Platinum, provided my trip to the middle east in a few weeks time comes off.

Just had my SC posted from last weeks remaining flights. Now up to 680SC per my signature and over halfway to re-qual. Very happy. Also snagged my first loyalty bonus for the year so now have enough points for my next JASA, in the promotion period :)

A comfort seat is not booked in the same name as you, and needs to be a done by a phone operator, preferably from the premium desk if you have access. I don’t know how it works in relation to a JASA though as the comfort seat doesn’t include taxes (but does include GST) when you pay cash.

In theory it should work, but not sure about how you’d do so with points.

Whilst I did not receive the email for the double status credit promo, I got onto the registration page and successfully registered with a confirmation message. However, when I checked with the call centre I was told I was not entitled. Because of the confirmation I booked a return on J to prop up my SCs to requalify for WP which expires at the end of the month. QFFP refuse to honor the confirmation. What can I do?

Well you cannot do anything. If you didn't get the email why would you think you are entitled to it??
