Qantas domestic economy meals

QF612 MEL to BNE
Looks like what I had on the QF1287 earlier this week between BNE and MEL. The Lindt ball was nice - can't remember the last time I was on a Qantas flight where they were handed out. Seemed to be much more common a few years ago (along with a proper hot meal in economy).

Last night flew QF550 in the middle of dinner and it was just cheese and crackers which was fine as I was not hungry but would be disappointed if I wanted some food.

This was actually really good. Put it in a bowl and would be better than many J domestic meals. Other option was Hungarian stew with vegetables. No mention about the type of meat.

Hungarian stew... if it was goulash, it would typically be beef. Assumed served with some random vegetables and mash.

I would say 75 cents Qantas are paying for that food 20 cents for the drink
That must mean the whole food unit costs mere cents to make. That's pretty extraordinary!

If they flogged that at retail, to say they'd be making a motza would be completely understating it.

I fly a lot of regional flights. The are actually very tasty. I would like to find that onion relish No kitchen on the dash 8 400 so you just have to suck it up. Mostly give you a wine or beer though. Luckily I have access to the lounges. Can’t blame Qantas for the aircraft unfortunately, especially for an hour in the air.
