Qantas disguises first class seats as $20 ‘cabin in the clouds’ on Airbnb

Possibly, or when Qantas cqlls the person cant actually travel or doesnt have enough points and the same seats are put back up.

Yesterday around 12:16pm I was lucky enough to find the Sydney to Hong Kong listing and snapped it up. It was unexpected as I had missed out on Santiago and London earlier that day. It came up as I refreshed my Hong Kong page with filters being, home, 2 adults and $20. I was refreshing like crazy as I was about to go out for lunch and give up. 166159

Congrats @Travels86 !

When Qantas called did they help you arrange a return flight (classic rewards or paid) and link so no need topay premium for a one way fare? Did you book 2 seats or did they let you just take 1?

So the profile is live again with destinations of hong kong, london and santiago, but with no available dates :(

Thanks!
No they didn’t. But they did give me a different number to call in case I had any questions later. I might give them a call later on and ask about that. I booked the 2 seats.

Hi everyone!
I’m new here but I’ve been collecting points for a while and have my head around how to spend them to get the best value per point!
I was just wondering, does anybody have the links to the listings for Hong Kong and/or London by any chance please?

Thanks!

Did you have to verify your profile with a drivers license?

I'm experiencing the same. I don't think they show up in area searches unless there are dates available.

I've never found one unless I click on one of the links above... not with any search info put in of any kind... I am hoping you're right, otherwise I'm doing something very wrong....

If the listing is active but there are no dates available, then it won't show up in the search. The direct links won't let you book anything.

If the listing is active and there are dates available, it will show up in the search. You need to reflexively book at that instant, or someone else will take it.

So on the off chance I actually find something, at what point does it become yours?

I find a listing, dates are available, click `request to book` - is it at that point that the seats/ booking become yours? Or do you need to race all the way through to entering cc details for the $20 fee?

It's only confirmed once you've submitted payment. Multiple people can request to book certain dates, but the first paid reservation will lock the dates up.

Hey team,

Like many, discovered this thread thanks to Qantas and Airbnb.

Question; when searching, are we assuming that all these listing will have it as a 'Plane' in Unique Homes, if I click that filter option? At the moment just narrowing the search to $20, and will try with the Plane filter, and keep refreshing, whilst at the same time begging my family to transfer me spare points.

Thanks!

Sadly the only answer is we don't know. They will most likely change the listing parameters each time to make it harder to catch, but who knows how sophisticated it really is.
