Hi all,

Just received this email for the first time today. Is this a new feature for QF?

Cheers

Dear Mr xx_xx_X,
As you're flying with us soon, we have provided the following information to help you prepare for your journey.
This does not replace your E-Ticket Itinerary Receipt documentation that you may be required to show at airports.
The first flight in your booking is shown. To view your full booking visit qantas.com/yourbooking.

I yet to receive one, but somehow I think not.

All e-tickets I have received in the last decade or so simply quote the allowance for the class booked.

It would surprise me if Qantas perceived the cost-benefit of factoring status into such notifications would make it worthwhile.

I wonder if these will consider status when they refer to baggage allowances etc :?:

I got an email today regarding my flight tomorrow and it stated that I was allowed 5 checked bags as part of my frequent flyer baggage allowance.

I don't seem to get this email for every individual flight?

Yeah it does seem to be scattered as to whether you receive it or not.

Still, I think it's a good step from Qantas (and seems to have been copied from Virgin Blue).

Jetstar have been doing it for years! (But only the 1st few times you fly them, they don't seem to bother emailing me anymore.)

The checked baggage does include status but doesn't get it correct if you are travelling with an infant (not occupying a seat).

The one thing it got wrong last time was that we were travelling in upgraded business (U) however it still said economy and had the economy plus status luggage limits.

The email I got yesterday for my travel today in upgraded business (U) states business as my travel class.

I got the departure information email for the first time in January.

For multi-trip itineraries I only received one email for the first flight. Not very useful if subsequent flights on the multi-trip itinerary are weeks or even months away....

I have been receiving the departure information e-mail almost every week, did not get one last week, since I have been commuting SYD-BNE. I received an email a few hours ago with information about my flight tomorrow and baggage allowances etc. There is no mention of the return flight and I have yet to receive a departure information email for a return flight.

I really do not see the point in sending out what I consider to be a reminder and then not bothering to send one out an email for the remainder of the itinerary....
