Qantas Delays/Cancellations

With yesterday's late departure of QF11 as noted above, A388 VH-OQL arrived in LAX on Tuesday 14 July at 1638 hours, 128 minutes late.

Its scheduled late night 2330 hours return flight, QF12, did not take off until 0127 hours on Wednesday 15, so Thursday 16 gate arrival in Sydney should be about 0850 hours, 80 minutes late.

Continuing with Thursday 16 July 2026, QF67, the 0905 hours SYD-BLR (A332 VH-EBR) had been expected to depart at 1000 hours but had not done so by 1009. The aircraft has been in Sydney for 24 hours so not sure why the delay.

A333 VH-QPG on the timetabled 1010 hours SYD-HKG (QF127) is forecast to push back at 1100. The plane has been in Sydney since arriving at 1718 hours yesterday afternoon as QF26 from HND. As @tomlee1986 has noted, there's a lot of late running on the MEL and SYD to/from HKG routes of QFi. Yet major competitor CX, while not perfect, is more punctual.

Remember I did say the QFi A333 fleet is aging and tend to break down more frequently over time

QF67 (A332 VH-EBR) on Thursday 16 was airborne from SYD at 1024 hours with BLR gate arrival forecast for 1729 hours, 54 minutes late.

A333 VH-QPF has the task of QF29 from MEL to HKG, the 1015 hours predicted to depart at 1113.

-QPG on QF127 from SYD to HKG has been further delayed to 1118 hours in expected pushback.

B789 VH-ZNC on Wednesday 15 July's QF75 from SYD to YVR is arriving on that date at 1820 hours, 50 minutes late as it did not take off last night until 2114 compared to its scheduled 2030 hours pushback.

UPDATE: QF29 was in the sky at 1114 hours so HKG gate arrival should be approximately 1827 hours, 32 minutes late.

QPG on 127 is now status unknown on flight radar 24

QF127 from SYD to HKG departed at 1153 hours and took off at 1208, with HKG gate arrival likely at approximately 1856 hours, 61 minutes late. FR24 is stupidly showing a landing (not gate arrival time) of '2105 hours' which is ridiculous. Often these FR24 times are revised once an aircraft is at cruise a few minutes after takeoff.

@tomlee1986 , QFi is showing tonight's 1930 hours HKG-SYD QF128 as 'on time' but often its flight status site only changes departure times after the flight that's forming it is several hours into its outbound journey, so I wouldn't read too much into that. It is possible for QF29 from MEL to form QF128 to SYD tonight: has happened previously.

The delay to QF127 was obviously unanticipated by QFi because for ages this morning, a revised departure at '1100 hours' was displaying on the QF flight status page of its website. There could be numerous causes to the delay, but if it was due to an aircraft (say) software problem, it brings @tomlee1986 's comment about how these aircraft such as today's A333 VH-QPG are ageing and hence require maintenance more frequently. Of course not every component harks back to the delivery date of the aircraft, but if aircraft are like other forms of transport equipment ranging from bicycles to trains and trucks, ageing doesn't make them typically easier to maintain.
