Qantas Delays/Cancellations

On Monday 2 February 2026, the overnight QF103 from SYD up to HNL (A333 VH-QPK) arrived 26 minutes late at 0926 hours. In a familiar routine, the return QF104 lost time on the ground at Honolulu airport, with this 1045 hours scheduled offering not airborne until 1210. Tuesday 3 gate arrival at SYD should be 1915 hours tonight, 55 late.

Also on Monday 2, QF3 from AKL to JFK arrived at gate at 1503 hours, 38 late with B789 VH-ZNG. It should (touch wood) be ounctual or early on the return as timetabled departure is not until 1715, a 170 minute scheduled fairly generous turnaround.

QF 30 arrived late into MEL this morning at 0831 instead of 0750 despite departing HKG reasonably on time - checked flightradar 24 - there was a TOGA event happened at the first landing.

QF29 on QPH took off at MEL at 1232 instead of 1105, now it is 45 mins late at 1820 instead of 1735 to HKG - date is 05/02/2025

Also on Thursday 5 February 2026, QF7, the mid afternoon SYD-DFW (A388 VH-OQJ) did not take off until 1613 hours. Same day gate arrival should be around the 1355 hours mark, 85 late.

Thu 5 Feb QF64, JNB-SYD (A388 VH-OQA) departed on time but diverted to MEL when northeast of MEL, landing some 40 mins later. After spending approx 100 mins on the ground it continued on to SYD, arriving 1752, some 200 mins late. Medical diversion?

On Saturday 7 February, QF63, the 0930 hours SYD-JNB, is estimated to depart an hour late at 1030 hours. Aircraft is A388 VH-OQD that has either been undergoing maintenance or sitting idle since arrival from JNB on Thursday 5's afternoon.

Not a delay but an odd flight.

787 VH-ZND Yam Dreaming currently operating as QF6011 BNE-RUH (Riyadh, Saudi Arabia).

I'm assuming it will be a quick turnaround, load up a few golf bags and operate RUH-ADL carrying much of the LIV Golf contingent.

In more on Sunday 8 February, QF67 (0930 hours SYD up to BLR in India) was airborne at 1100 with A332 VH-EBO. Gate arrival should be about 1636, 46 late.

Because yesterday's QF63 was late (see above), QF64 from JNB back across to SYD should arrive on Sunday afternoon at 1518 hours, 48 minute stardy.

A388 VH-OQC on the Saturday 1745 hours SYD-LAX was in the sky at 1958, so it arrived same day at 1410, 100 minutes behind schedule.

Continuing with Sunday 8, QF19, the lunchtime 1205 hours SYD-MNL (A332 VH-EBN) was airborne at 1404 so gate arrival should be about 1853 hours, 83 minutes late.

A388 VH-OQL on QF7 (1405 hours SYD up and across to DFW) was expected to depart at 1440 hours.

VH-EBA is on the 1425 hours SYD-CGK altered to hopefully depart at 1510.

Monday 9 February has seen A332 VH-EBQ arrive on QF42 (ex CGK) at 0658 hours, 13 minutes late in SYD but its next flight, QF107, the scheduled 0905 hours SYD-CTS in Japan is delayed until a forecast 1100.

A333 VH-QPI arrived on the overnight NRT-MEL QF80 at 0826 hours, 41 late with its next tour of duty, the 0925 hours MEL-NRT QF79 suggested as departing at 0955. This seems a little optimsitic: a guess is that pushback will be any time from 1010 hours onwards.
