Qantas Delays/Cancellations

In another Friday 5 September delay, QF29, the 1020 hours midmorning MEL-HKG with A333 VH_QPG took off at 1310 hours. Gate arrival should be at about 2006 hours, 131 minutes late.
 
On Friday 5 September 2025, A388 VH-OQK operated QF7, the 1210 hours SYD-DFW that arrived same day at 1315 hours, 45 minutes late.

However the scheduled 2240 hours ex DFW on 5 September, QF8, has been cancelled. OQK remains in DFW from what I can see on FR24.

It is not yet September school holidays so perhaps there's sufficient leeway in QFi's timetables for it to be one A380 down.

On Friday 5 September 2025, A388 VH-OQK operated QF7, the 1210 hours SYD-DFW that arrived same day at 1315 hours, 45 minutes late.

However the scheduled 2240 hours ex DFW on 5 September, QF8, has been cancelled. OQK remains in DFW from what I can see on FR24.

Sunday’s QF7 is cancelled as a result of the QF8 (Friday) cancellation.
 
In more on Sunday 7 September, A333 VH-QPB was ex SIN as QF84, arriving SYD at 0946 hours, 91 minutes late.

It is forming QF127, the scheduled 1020 hours SYD up to HKG optimistically estimated to depart at 1105 hours. I don't know whether these pushback forecasts are computer-generated or manually input but they often seem unrealistic.

The HKG routes sure have a lot of late running.

QF35, the 1205 hours MEL-SIN is expected to depart at 1340 this afternoon. A332 VH-EBD on the overnight QF36 from SIN is not arriving until 1230, 415 minutes late. Again, it'll be surprising if a 70 minute turnaround is achieved in Melbourne.

On Saturday 6, QF33 from PER up to CDG in France arrived at 0813 hours, 88 late so QF34 back down to PER is delayed, with arrival at gate likely at 0921 hours, 36 late.

B789 VH-ZNC on the Saturday morning SYD-AKL-JFK has diverted to PIT: most unusual. No doubt due to staff having timed out, a PIT-JFK leg has been cancelled. QF4 from JFK on Saturday 6 has been cancelled: will the B789 work back empty to LAX and then convey passengers to AKL and SYD?

Nothing to do with staff timing out, she was on normal timings, weather required diversion , plane and pax resuming flight to JFK shortly .

In more on Sunday 7 September, QF63, the midmorning 0930 hours SYD across to JNB took off at 1053 hours with A388 VH_OQI. Arrival at gate should be at about 1652 hours, 37 minutes late.
 
QF6 has been 14 hours at least late the last couple of days.

QF3 6/9 diverted to Pittsburg due weather at JFK. I believe it’s still there.
