Qantas Delays/Cancellations

In more on Tuesday 22 July 2025, QF19 (1225 hours SYD-MNL, A333 VH-QPD) was airborne at 1346 so arrival is forecast at gate for 1938 hours, 48 minutes tardy.

QF81 from SYD was in the sky at 1227 so SIN arrival for VH_OQL should be about 1832, 102 minutes behind schedule.

The MEL-HKG QF29 with A333 VH-QPC was much later than expected, taking off mid afternoon at 1458, so gate arrival won't be until a forecast 2219 late tonight Hong Kong time, 259 minutes past the allotted.

QF1 (A388 VH-OQD) was in the sky from SYD at 1605 hours with suggested SIN gate arrival becoming 2159 hours, 44 minutes late.

On Monday 28 July 2025, QF6 from FCO to PER with B789 VH_ZNB arrived at gate at 1003 hours, 78 minutes behind schedule.

The second sector to SYD changed to -ZNE with this 1030 hours scheduled flight not airborne until 1455 this afternoon Perth time, so SYD arrival is an estimated 2018 hours, 233 minutes late. This may delay an evening departure as QF75, the 2030 hours SYD across and up to YVR is nominally retimed to a 2145 hours mid evening pushback. 2018 to 2145 is optimistic, though perhaps not impossible.

-ZNB is next to be on QF9, the 1835 hours PER-LHR.

I don't follow QF5/6/9/10/33/34 sufficiently closely to know if aircraft swaps like this frequently occur. Given it creates extra work such as having to transfer luggage and freight ULDs, I assume there was a very good reason why it occurred today.

The luggage would have to come off anyway wouldn't it as they would all have to clear customs in Perth before continuing to Sydney?

If the flight operates between international terminals pax can clear in Sydney.
Luggage may still come off for balance issues etc.
