Qantas Delays/Cancellations

Sitting in the Qf First in Melbourne. The paassangers on QF177 from 8 am are telling the front desk they are getting emails and texts that tell them different information about what is happening. The desk was saying they do not know what is going on. Sounds like business as usual.

Update: They have just cancelled QF 177 for today and telling everyone to get to the front desk now, so they can be escorted back landside. New departure time 8 am tomorrow (14th).

QF11 12/5 cancelled

On Tuesday 13 May, QF7, the 1025 hours long haul SYD-DFW did not become airborne until 2014 mid evening. B789 VH-ZNI is forecast to arrive at gate at about 1939 hours, 534 minutes late. It looks like this B789 will then form the 13 May QF22, the 2025 hours DFW across and down to MEL estimated to depart an hour late.

On Wednesday 14 May 2025, the B789-operated QF3 (0910 hours from SYD and then 1625 hours from AKL) to JFK was cancelled, so QF4 will be also.

Not good, as the next 'direct' (or if one prefers, nonstop AKL-JFK) is not until Friday 16 May.

A332 VH-EBM on the morning SYD across and up to BLR in India should arrive at about 1759 hours, 84 minutes late.

B789 VH-ZNI that was badly late yesterday is currently operating QF22 from DFW down to MEL that on Thursday 15 should arrive at 0612 hours, 72 late, given its SYD-DFW flight yesterday was many hours behind schedule.

I think OQI is the busted one. It’s at LAX.
No QF2 today as it’s operating as the QF332 into SYD 17/5.
OQB arrived at LGW today and OQA as the QF1 into LHR.
OQB will position to LAX today 16/5.

QF21 MEL-DFW delayed by 5 hours and will misconnect on my AA flight to IAD. Hopefully it doesn't get cancelled altogether as I'm hanging tight and not looking at alternate options via other hubs! >_<

Moved my flights over to QFF once Alan Joyce had left and I no longer had any moral objections with supporting QF. Was previously an SQ stan. Reasoned that a program with lifetime status is probably a better investment. Whinge incoming lol...

Flights booked through work TA --> TA said QF hasn't made any changes to the actual itinerary yet so it can't be touched/rebooked --> TA called QF because she has a bunch of clients in the same position and wanted clarity --> QF advises TA that everyone just needs to hang tight until they know whether QF21 will have any further delays or even be operating before they can rebook us (asked TA not to touch anything as it will interfere with all there internal processes atm?). My gripe is that had they allowed free rebooking due to IRROPS as SOP straight away, I would've actually made it to IAD on time since QF93 today has been delayed by almost 3 hours and I could've connected through LAX instead. But instead, I have to wait around all day...

Presumably not already at the airport? If you had been, ground staff might have been an,e to move you as the ticket should have been under airport control by then.

But of course the risk that they couldn’t, leaving you sat at the airport for hours :(

Yeh nah, QF at least gave us decent advanced notice (4.5hr pre-departure). All good, seems to be going ahead (fingers crossed) and been rebooked on AA the next day (midday) and will overnight it in Dallas…debating whether to stay in town and get a decent meal in civilisation, or rawdog it in a grim airport hotel…
