Qantas Club access post flight

I've been asked for a BP in both BNE and PER, and also had QF card scanned on entry, so it's not true that they never check the flight.

That said, most of the time they've only required me to flash my QF card.

mrpooky.

Fair enough - admittedly my experience is primarily in MEL and SYD up until early this year so could have changed or be different elsewhere.

Shower after int flight is also good, if heading straight to work.

I struggle with this.

I'm guessing that this only works when you don't have to retrieve checked-baggage and the terminals are fairly close together ... ie MEL?

BD

as a post script, because I have a VA flight tomorrow (VA plat status) , the lounge angel let me in. Yes its bending the rules, but this flexibility is a really nice surprise.

Yes, this is easier when traveling HLO or you can always leave your checked bags with a stranger for a few bucks:D
I've done it many times in MEL and SYD coming back from Asia and going to a meeting.

Yesterday in Sydney, for the first time as far as I can remember, I had my card scanned by the Qantas lady at the front of the lounge. Might mean post-flight visits are off the cards for a while... (or she was just an extremely judicious Qantas employee).

Yes HLO extra long weekend trips to Asia mostly (think back to QF Expedia Br deal) where I minimise how much leave I have to use up by putting myself through a day of misery at work after an overnight flight from Asia.

In SYD, I just hop on the train to get to domestic.

WP only. Just show the card. Technically only supposed to be after JQ or QF but I've never had an issue after VA or Rex either - they never check the flight.
Anytime access? Who said it was enhanced away?

You are quite lucky you have not encountered the 2 lounge staff with the portable scanners in use at the entrance to lounge in BNE.

What is the point of going into lounge post travel?. Drinks before going home?. I would have thought getting home ASAP is the imperative?
SYD waiting for dad to arrive to pick me up. Takes ~20-25 minutes from home and I call him when I arrive. Luggage waiting for me on carousel when I get downstairs.

BNE I am in no hurry to get to apartment. I will time my departure from lounge ~10-15 minutes before next train due to depart and collect luggage from carousel on way through.

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Another 2 reasons to use arrival access. Missed the toilet before seat belt sign came on. Flying when too sick to go to work, technically that would also be waiting for hotel check in time.

No offence, but saying stuff like this on a public forum is the sort of stuff that leads to these great benefits from disappearing.

I usually head in for a slightly better meal than the one offered onboard the plane, perhaps an alcoholic drink, but also perhaps a non-alcoholic beverage to recharge my batteries prior to the drive home.

Could even use the shower if it was a very long drive home and you'd also travelled a long way I guess.

These days I most often use this benefit after the red-eye from Perth to Brisbane (in Y). It's so nice to clean up a bit in the bathrooms and then relax while I have a glass of juice and some breakfast before facing the morning Brisbane traffic on my journey home.

Previously I used to appreciate it for a wind-down glass of nice wine after a Friday night Jetstar flight from NTL.

At the moment it's probably the most useful benefit I receive from being WP instead of only SG, and is the main reason I really want to stay WP and not drop down in my next membership year. (I'm also hoping to go on a OneWorld international flight to HKG, via SYD, in order to finally experience some QF and CX First Lounge goodness!)

mrpooky.

I often have connecting charter flights when travelling to BWB via PER with a 4 hour wait. I send my checked luggage through the X-ray and it goes up to the QP with me where I can catch up with emails and have lunch.
