Qantas Club access on arrival

I use it a lot as a WP but didn't know it was a listed benefit until now. I always did the 'I've just arrived from xx_ and wondered if I pop in here and wait for a colleague on a following flight' and had a 100% strike rate but realise now why.

AFF is a wonderful resource for guilt-free flying!!

But what do you do if you have checked luggage?

Provided that there is nothing in the checked luggage which would upset security, there is nothing stopping you from taking said bags into the QP. I've done that myself once when I arrived at PER airport stupidly early without realising that check in didn't re-open before 7pm.

Asked the guy if I could take my check in bags through security and he had no problems, and the QP staff didn't mind that I was bringing my very large bag in.

But what do you do if you have checked luggage?

I travel with checked luggage most times.

Unless I am in a hurry I visit the lounge for as long as I want. Sometimes the luggage is still on carousel. Other times it is waiting for me at baggage services. Sometimes I get a call from baggage services.

So far so good.

I bet you don't do that when it's your golf clubs :)

Funny you should say that. I dont travel domestically that often with golf clubs and I mainly travel to places without a Qantas lounge or it is closed but also take my old golf set with me.

I must test out that theory next time. I have a 3 year old golf set with Titleist irons worth ~$1,200 and a TaylorMade driver worth ~$400. I would love a replacement set.

Well, stuff me. Never picked up on that one. Can't imagine needing to use it on domestic flights, but it seems like if you have flown in on an eligible international flight (therefore 'travelled that day'), then if I had a VA onward flight, I could then sit myself in the QF lounge waiting for my VA flight (as I've recently dropped to VA silver, thus lost lounge access).

You'd never know !

Travelled down to MEL recently arriving at 7:30am

The Arrivals Access for WP is a welcome bonus as it allows us to freshen up and have a proper breakfast / coffee before leaving the airport.

The 0600 SYD departure did not lend itself to any time for coffee or breakfast.

So, I'd say it is helpful.
