Finally, a travel question! I’ve got SYD-HND-LHR booked as a J classic award for November. It’s been over 2 days now and it still hasn’t ticketed. No response from QF on social media and two calls now where I have up at 2 hours and 4 and a half hours on hold. No offer of a callback.

How concerned should I be? I can’t find JLs ticketing time limit anywhere and I’d hazard a guess that should it auto cancel, my chances of getting the seats back are close to zero.

Same issue here with a JQ redemption but points have already been deducted...

Closer in JL has a short ticketing time limit. You would want to call until it is ticketed.

Finally had success tonight. Call answered at just over 2 hours. Ticket issued within a few minutes.

Interestingly, my credit card was charged $837 and the agent said it should have been $930. I didn't have the energy to argue with her over $100 so wasn't too concerned, however the ticket now shows a "fare" component of $91 which explains the difference.

Well it seems they did reverse and recharge the taxes at a higher level. Any logical reason as to why a fare was added to the taxes?

The 91 AUD fare component is the fuel surcharge on JL.

I booked an international J class classic reward last night and it was ticketed and in my inbox within 10 minutes - much faster than usual. Went straight in and selected my seats :)

I'm still waiting on a QF domestic ticket, been 2 weeks plus a fiji airways reward ticket, but I understand that's upto Fiji airways & they are swamped i know.

QF hopeless in taking so long to issue tickets, really sub par.

Never had this issue of delay with any other carrier.

Fiji Airways ticket booked through QFFF? That's on QF, not FJ.

Ok.
I've spoken to QF about it & I was told as it's Fiji metal they issue a ticket to QF then QF issue a QF ticket to me.
That they have 1 lady working on the Fiji ticketing office etc.

Hmm seems your right, as Fiji have issued me an email with reservation & details etc, just haven't received a QF ticket. Been like 3 weeks!

Note: I have a ticket from QF & Fiji airways for the outbound leg.

Both legs on Qantas points.

Thanks, will call QF first thing in the morning, always shortest wait time.

Maybe Qantas has some extraordinary relationship with Fiji Airways... but it also sounds like your ticket might be in a queue waiting for QF to issue it.

Hi there,

I've recently redeemed via Qantas Classic Rewards for two J tickets on Cathay for April 2022.
Whilst submitting the co-pay, the system crashed and payment was not taken. I then managed to get through to Qantas late the next night and they took payment over the phone.
However, I've now noticed that the points haven't been taken. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what will happen now? I'm assuming they'll find out shortly and take the points?

Thanks,

In theory, yes. But you also need to make sure the ticket is processed - I'd leave it no more than 48-72 hours. If a partner airline doesn't receive 'payment' for the seat it can auto-cancel. And no guarantee you'll get the seats back :(

I wouldn’t be too worried about the deduction of points. More importantly, do you have an eticket?

I have an eticket, have selected seats on Cathay website and it's been 2 weeks now since booking.
