I just booked a classic business reward flight to NZ which ended up being a few hundred in taxes and carrier fees.
However, I realised I have a spare $450 travel credit from an AMEX deal so I'm considering cancelling my original flight and using the travel credit on a economy flight instead.
Is it currently free to cancel my classic reward flight and get refunded both the points and taxes+fees?
Is a Qantas business award flight worthwhile at the moment or am I better off cancelling and using up my AMEX travel credit for economy? I'm not sure when I'll travel again this year given NZ looks to be the only available destination and my AMEX travel credit expires early next year.
