Qantas Call Centre Long Wait Times

My understanding (from unofficial sources) is that there is a pool of priority phone numbers that airport staff give to passengers which rotates every few weeks.

I will attempt to publish the currently active number(s) in this post:

1300 304 318
1300 659 161
1300 025 396
1300 659 116

1300 024 715
1300 025 390
1300 659 115
1300 659 134
1300 659 502

I rang the priority phone line today and the phone was answered in 30 seconds.
Anja the operator was brilliant and fixed everything!

Qantas, get rid of the South African call centre and keep Hobart as the no1 point of call :)
For us this has become our most essential “ perk” of being platinum. Especially the last two years, being able to have a call answered quickly and competently has been priceless. My number one reason to try and maintain status.

What a sad state of affairs. Having to spend thousands of $ just to get someone to answer the phone :( 😢

10 days, multiple messages and still no reply/acknowledgement from Qantas on twitter/facebook....

I'm just chasing up Status matches/missing benefits etc so not going to sit on hold all day.

I feel sorry for those that actually have an urgent reason to contact them.

If I was desperate to speak to them I would just drive to the airport. That being said, easy to say when you live in Canberra.

Two different issues to be honest. This is mostly about the reservations call centre, not the frequent flyer service centre who tbh answer quite quick.

Then they give you the number provided above.............

I took this photo of the service desk at Canberra Airport recently ;)

And in case you think it's just a CBR thing, this was the Qantas service counter at CNS a few months ago...

The dictionary says that to enhance something means to improve something, how did Qantas get it so wrong over recent years w9th their enhancement of products and services?

Anyone know what's currently going on with the call centre?

No option to input your FF number and a message about technical problems. No way I'm sitting in the regular queue!

Same I'm on hold right now, no call back service & technical error....just when you thought Qantas couldn't get any worse, they throw out the technical error excuse.

Might just hang up & use the above number.

Got thru tick under an hour & issue solved, sounded like South African call center, although couldn't be sure, didnt ask. I'm not fussed over that, just want issues solved!

Solved my issue, but I tell you, using QF points for Jetstar bookings then flight changes etc, it's so bloody difficult, can't do anything online except "Accept" the booking now have to call Jetstar to get my paid seats back, ah.
OOL trip on Dreamliner for the folks, front rows.

EDIT: Now my booking has totally disappeared.....oh no, shirley it's temporary. I did see the change before it vanished.

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

As a guess sounds like the CRM may have had issues, or the phone queuing system link to the CRM had gone down. Hopefully temporary.

Ah! That's an easy one. Read any of their announcements and you'll see the changes 'are in response to customer demand'. Responding to customer demands = 'improve something'.

Now... of course we'd all like to meet this very special panel of customers who requested simply and fairer, the abandonment of hot breakfasts on overnight flights and the end of chauffeur services. But for that story we'd need to page Mr Anderson, H C.

Following the WA premier's announcement, I called to change a paid/credit voucher booking last week, paid a small amount of fare difference on Visa. Flights updated on website and when hovering over change/cancel button, says 'booking is being processed'.

After a week, no ticket and I noticed that the fare difference charge on my Visa that was 'pending' had now disappeared. Rang back yesterday and queried booking, no issue, ticket now issued and should have it shortly.

Still nothing overnight, so rang back today. Ticket has not issued as outstanding payment - fine, gave Visa number again. Consultant then said please hold whilst I contact ticketing to get the ticket issued. After 1 hour on hold from that point, I gave up...

So instead of one contact and having a ticket issued shortly afterwards, I have now had 3 contacts (and clogging up call centre for more urgent queries) and still do not have a ticket issued. When I do 'email ticket' from the booking, it emails the old ticket without the changes or fare increase.

Travel not until Feb so will 're-engage' next month if still have not received anything.
