Qantas Box Office

Anyone used this recently to book tickets? I am wanting to see Driving Miss Daisy and thought I would look for a ticket through Qantas Box Office. They offer triple QFF points for all purchases.

While they advertise limited tickets from 17 April (and all performances up to 28 April) onwards when I tried to search for one ticket there were none available at that quantity. However, when I searched for two tickets they were available but up the back. The cheapest tickets on 17 April are $159 up the back plus heaps of charges.

But no single tickets for the several days I looked.

So I went straight to the theatre site and was able to buy a single ticket near the front of the theatre for $199.90 plus booking fee and handling charges for Wednesday night. The seat I chose was a single seat in a good position so it was win/win for me and the theatre.

Have others had this problem?

I've used Qantas Box Office once. The very expensive A reserve ticket that I booked ended up being a terrible seat with the view obstructed by a pillar holding up the mezzanine above.

Now I only book on sites where I can view what seat I have in advance. I checked the seating plan after the show in question and it was marked as a bad seat on the venue web site, so I'm surprised they gave it to me (let alone sold it as A Reserve).

Haven't used QF Box Office since!

Well I am just back from seeing the show and it was wonderful. Angela Lansbury and James Earl Jones were wonderful and have an obvious rapport. Well worth seeing and I am very glad I went.

The Qantas Box Office is pretty average, bordering on cough. They charge prices higher than official retail outlets for many events, and they also charge a ~$8 booking fee even when the official retail outlet does not charge one.

Also I bought tickets to a musical with them 3 years ago, never got the points. I called up three times to chase it up. Still never got the points and just gave up.

Have only used the Box Office once to buy tickets and probably would not bother again. The points credited OK but the price was dearer and we had to collect them from the 'box office' which actually was not the theatre's box office but a couple of shops down the street. The other annoying thing was that I have waitlisted for concerts and never been contacted to say that the performer is coming (though have booked through other channels so did not miss out.) If I had been waiting for Qantas I would not seen the concerts as they sold out.

No, but we saw the Matinee Tuesday.

It happeded to be SWMBO's birthday and back in October I got a heads up from "Amex" and was able to secure two row D seats on the aisle for $100 each.

Surprised her with them Sunday.

Lansbury was the consummate actor with Jones not far behind.

I really enjoyed it.

Followed up with a night at the HOP with pre dinner drinks in the lounge (Waves to Jessica Tam) followed by Dinner at Walter's Wine Bar (50% off Dimmi's).

No, I have not used Qantas BO.

Just went to use this for the first time and the tickets are WAY overpriced

Grease - The Musical - About $60 extra for 2 people vs booking direct

Of note the Velocity/ShowBix box office was the same price as the QF Box Office

What a waste of time
