Qantas boosts international capacity, wet lease Finnair aircraft

That agrees with the source I posted above that this has come from QF and not AY.

QF must have a plan. Maybe US bookings are down so much that it will scale back routes like MEL-DFW and SYD-SFO?
Maybe a380 back on MEL - SIN route later in the year freeing 2 330s up.

Last one due “end of the year” according to QF, wouldn’t be surprised if it’s late.

As they put it correctly, you cant both cancel flights due to pilot shortage and also furlough pilots.

Sounds like AY was being unreliable, QF reduced the lease, and now AY is using that as an excuse to punish some pilots (who probably just cost AY a fair whack of money)

Unreliable? How so in its Australian ops?

Does anyone know if any of Finnair / QF wet lease flights from SYD to SIN has been cancelled, or scheduled to be cancelled (particularly interested this month) because of the Finnair pilot dispute?

In the next 7 days QF291 is only scheduled once and the other days is a QF A330.

Since we have a cash J fare with TK, and TA booked us on QF291 (SYD to SIN), wonder where we will be re-booked on. I was looking forward to try out the AY J seats that some liked and some not. Will contact TA to find out if they know anything yet 🙏🏻✈️

I suspect the once a week rotation of QF291/292 is to get one of the AY A330s to SIN for routine maintenance. When the service was running normally, there would always be one day in the week where the aircraft would remain in SIN overnight.
