Qantas Birthday Recognition?

I'm wondering how much they use it. I just took two QF long hauls, and the only recognition I got was around half way through flight #1, after a very disturbing/interesting incident with a pax that was met by police at the first stop, and then all i got was 'i'm sorry I didn't come and see you earlier! I'm sorry about the disturbance!'. On flight #2, I got nothing. Nadda. Zip. Then, all the people around me got J PJ's, noise cancelling headphones, and amenity kits dished out. I know one was a NB too (saw the BP). I got nothing. I didn't expect it either, I just kept to myself but it was curious that I got no attention and NB's were fawned over by the FA's. This was on the mini Y cabin on the upper deck of the 380.

Interesting and a bit disappointing, on our trans tasman flights last week we didn't get any recognition either, we did get an express pass just before landing in SYD but not much use for that at 10:50pm, other pax on the other hand were greeted and talked to, they might have been P1 or CL though.

Not planning on flying on my birthday though, I'm already going on the QF81 run the week after and SWMBO said no for my birthday

I don't mind the lack of butt-kissing, it can be embarrassing but it's just as well that I knew the 'FF PLATINUM EMERALD' on my BP was enough to get me through the fast track at LHR. There was no mention of it on board (do they still use express passes at LHR?).

Yeah they still use passes afaik. Was given one by qf in economy when I flew in in October. No more recent experiences... heck getting a landing card from BA is troublesome enough...
