For QF flight with AA codeshare number it doesn't allow to add baggage before the airport, and airport rates are $300 AUD.

AA ticket is offering business upgrade per domestic leg. Upgrading increases free baggage to 2 pieces.

Has anyone had experience with upgrading AA domestic leg, and has Qantas accepted additional baggage?

This reminds me of my experience checking in at the F desk for my AA codeshare flight in Miami in June this year. (I had booked flex Y.) I had prepaid one extra piece on all QF legs and expected to pay for the AA domestic leg MIA-LAX. I was shocked at the charge of US$200 (AU$300+) for the equivalent of PER-BNE! What a rip off! I didn’t think there was an option to upgrade on an AA flight,? By then I had received notice of my CR upgrade to J from LAX to SYD.

Yikes!

There are upgrade offers that can come up in the app. It changes according to the algorithm based on space, timing and other factors. Can be good value.

Comes with lounge access across the journey (according to the chat agent I spoke with, YMMV) and free baggage across American Airlines operated flights.
