Quite likely since I believe the OWE dining area doesn’t operate for Breakfast - so QF4 dips out?

Was in the lounge today - so impressive. Hot water went on the blink at home today so showered at the lounge and it was great.

Premium dining area - hmm - it’s cool - but didn’t open a minute before midday. Was first in, ordered some LP and then it took quite a while to order food. Kept trying to get attention and finally got it after 6/7 tries. Food very tasty. I think they prob need a few more staff in the dining area…

Overall though super impressive.

Looks amazing. I may be a lowly Silver but have already applied my lounge pass for use here in January, can't wait!
Flying QF @The-Aviator ?
My sister has been trying since November to link lounge passes for 1 March JQ travel, but no option.
No issue linking for February Melbourne JQ departure.

Any insight from others with this?
Told her to keep trying.

Flying QF.

Wasn't an issue this time but I remember on previous trips the browser in use made a difference as to whether I could link the pass or not. Could be worth giving it a go on another browser or device?

Was in there Friday, for a lounge with no windows they have done a decent job.
Food was good, the Bar had some nice coughtails and the staff were lovely.

I remembered the old J lounge had windows, no view of anything worthwhile but natural light, at the far end and even the old F broom cupboard had high set windows that let in natural light. Got me wondering what happened to those windows.
Picture from One Mile at a Time review (post #606) confirmed they are still there?

Sooo, sitting in the goldfish bowl at Auckland’s new Lounge. I know it’s nice and shiny new but I don’t like it! Sorry, I feel very uncomfortable plonked in the middle of everything for my meal (first world problems!!) I dont like being a spectacle and being on display like this is just not my style. Curious to see how it goes when it’s busy. Hoping the meal is worth it.

Hah I don’t mind it myself - currently in a corner seat and very comfortable!

If the new AKL lounge is any sign of what's to come for Sydney then we are certainly in for a treat.

It's large and tastefully decorated with a variety of seating options to suit individual needs. There's a good selection of substantial food as well as snacks and the drinks list is extensive. The only area in which it lacks is views but that's not a huge deal and there's still plenty of natural light.

I have to agree with those above, the goldfish bowl / playpen of a Platinum dining area does feel a bit uncomfortable but perhaps those who have sat inside would be better placed to share their thoughts.

I was in there last weekend and I think it depends on which way you are facing. I was seated facing ice cream bar (facing away from the buffet) so I really couldn't see anyone looking in so it didn't feel weird to me. If I was on the other side I think it would have been a bit different.

I haven’t found it too awkward; it’s just like P1 area in the Sydney F lounge.

So no premium dining in the morning?

We went in yesterday as WP. We were on the 1pm flight to Sydney. . The lounge is nice and fresh. The chairs are not that comfortable. We asked what time the restaurant was opening and were told normally 12 but sometimes a tiny bit earlier. The gate ladies said that we should be able to get a quick dining experience in before boarding but it would be tight. I’m not sure what Qantas were thinking if they know that people are looking forward to this but can’t open the restaurant 15 minutes earlier to make it a pleasant experience. Possibly Qantas rely on the fact that all their flights were run late so this wasn’t a problem. What was a problem was at the bar before the restaurant opens you can only get New Zealand sparkling wine. The Barman said champagne was only offered in the restaurant during meals.
I roll we enjoyed the new lounge I wonder why Qantas seem to be setting themselves up to make issues

Thanks for stating what I had been hoping would be otherwise like a discreet flashing of the card for the champagne in the main lounge.
It now means I will park myself in the dining area to continue enjoying champagne hoping I'm not denying someone else a table.
I don't understand Qantas sometimes.

We got a phone call towards the end of lunch that required us both to get on the phones. We didn’t want to be loud in the dining area and left. I did take my bubbles with me. I suspect you could go back to the restaurant for a top up.
But why make it difficult ?
