I installed the Qantas Assure app on my phone as it was a free trial. Not that it gives heaps of points, but it is a step in the right direction. I might as well get points for doing what I do every day, which is walking :D
Anyway, I have been trying to find information regarding these points accumulated through the app and all it states is that it can be used towards flights etc, but it actually dont say if it is going to be transferred to my account or if I have to do it. Any other users out there that might shed some light on this?
Cheers

I've received over 300 points already - all transferred automatically.

I've been using it since the start of the trial period. I believe points transfer every fortnight.

I've had two transfers of ~150 points each time and have accumulated more since the last transfer.

Not a points bonanza, but easier than searching "why is the sky blue" 100 times a day with the toolbar. :)

I am yet to get a transfer, hence the question... but now you got me curious....
What is "why is the sky blue" 100 times a day with the toolbar? :D

I ended up with almost 700 points for the month of the trial.

Now the telemarketing calls have started despite my opting out of such calls and being on the do not call register.

You guys are crazy.
No way I would touch this app, especially with an Android phone.

You don't realise how much personal information you are giving up. Totally not even nearly worth even 15,000 points.

Possibly. But in the interests of clarity, I should say the call was from Qantas Assure.

Not my phone, they are welcome to all the (minimal) details on this (generic) work phone (which is not even registered in my name, it's a company phone).

Perhaps they will see lots of calls to VA and WiFi conx to the VA Lounge and get the hint that potential business is being lost, then offer me some DSCs :).

Oh, good idea, I should update the iHealth app to say I'm 7'6" tall and see if I get automagically allocated bulk head seats :) :)

In short, well aware that every app is potentially a sponge for other data on the phone, they should all be treated with due caution... but the old saying goes, Garbage In, Garbage Out :)

Peace!
