Just really needing to ask the smart ones on here if QFF would allow a stop over (ie: few days / week) in Hong Kong (or other locations that have connections...) for a flight between Melb & Los Angeles?

Example (dummy one): Fri Sept 19th 2014:

(CX178) Melb (11.30pm) to HK (7.10am)

(CX892) HK (9.30am Sat) to LA (7.55am Sun)

Would it be possible to make HK a stopover for a week until the next CX892 flight 7 days later? It would be purchased using ASA / points..... JUST SHY of 16-26k (16k minimum it said!) Could either top up the points bank, or wait patiently (spelt?) for bonus CC points (failed to make the friends 1st statement :( ).

Forgot to mention, the actual booking would be a return flight, which the return trip is via Sydney on QF.

I don't think you will be able to get any of those flights on a QF flight number, therefore no ASA possible.
Can book it as a QF Partner (Classic) Award. Not to up to speed with stopovers but I think this would have to be booked as two separate awards if having a week long stopover
