Qantas apologises to frequent flyers with status extensions, lounge passes, points & more reward seats

I'm not sure when I next will be able to visit LHR yet so I might have to try calling up and requesting a seat release at a later date.

Finally Managed to login.

I was hoping for LAX-SYD awards on 8 Jan but they don't have anything available. I will keep my SQ Y LAX-SIN-SYD instead. I would have rather flew direct regardless of class.

I also checked SYD-LAX in late December. They do have some PE SYD-MEL-LAX, but still no better than my DL PE SYD-LAX. So ended up booking nothing.

There is no need to do the 4 sectors.
Previously you needed to book one flight, and that was it. Now, they have removed the requirement to book one flight.

My wife (silver) received her email from QF with offers today but I (Qantas Club) have not received the same. I am the one hanging on phone for ages and have every flight that I have booked changed times regularly.
I was expecting the $50 voucher to be a minor compensation but appears no.
What is the story or are we Club members not valued ?

WP here... still no email. Anniversary end of this month and 1400+SC in the last 12 months.

Edit: nvm found it!

QF needs to do a major upgrade to their IT systems imo but doing this requires a lot of budget and time and understanding from management that fixing the existing system now is costing them more than doing a major upgrade. Though if you do a major upgrade some functionality can be lost and there can be unexpected issues.

It could take some time to send all the emails out. They are probably using a queue and progressively send from that queue over time. Some people unfortunately will have to be towards the end of the queue.

If you haven't received the email in a few days maybe give QF a call and ask them what's happening. You have till the end of September to click the link to accept the points.

Thanks from the lucky ones who got what they wanted. They are happy. Delighted! :p

Others like me failed your match fitness test ... ignore the "please only call if you are travelling today" plea - that's for wimps wanting to avoid keeping people with critical issues off the lines!

I failed your Darwinian test, and watched $10,000 vanish before my eyes. 😭

I wonder ... was the website "issue" due to a rush of logins after that advertorial appearing on the ABC news website a bit before (and still there, with no mention of epic fails, 7 hours later) ... or was it another cynical way of determining match fitness? 😉

QF has emailed me to say that they've extended my TravelPass validity (it turns out looking at the original TravelPass email that it is by 12 months).

"We want to provide you with as much flexibility as we can, which is why we've extended the validity of your Qantas TravelPass.

Your Qantas TravelPass expiry date has been updated to 31 December 2023, and is ready to be used for your next Qantas flight. All other terms and conditions remain unchanged."

I received the a similar email. I hope the double status credits that came with my travel pass is one of the t&cs that remains unchanged.

Offers for Silver and above - nothing for QC unless you also have status?

I too received this email. Twice, in fact. I am so excited that I will have to wait until I have calmed down before deciding how I will spend the outstanding $1.73.

Happy to have snagged J to HNL for May, which is usually as rare as hens' teeth.

The booking process wasn't without a hitch...as soon as the points deducted from my account and card was charged, I received a "generic error" that they were unable to ticket the booking and to give them a call.

E ticket arrived a few minutes later, so hopefully all good. On a side note, no one else has assigned seats in the J cabin, so I'm not sure if that's reflective of uncharacteristically light loads or the fact it's so far out.

May this be the inflection point for Qantas after a miserable few months.
