Qantas has announced further expansion of its WA activities, with a new direct Perth-Exmouth service to launch on March 31, and the basing of an additional 737-800 in Perth for intrastate services.

“With the Western Australian government’s review of regulated routes opening Perth-Exmouth up to a second licensed operator, QantasLink will commence B717 services, initially three-times-a-week, from 31 March,” said Qantas regional manager WA and NT Ian Grey.

N.B. I think the regional manager is Ian Gay, rather than Ian Grey.

They are really ramping up in WA.

Have been rumours of QF setting up a QFLink turbo prop base in PER for a while, wonder if that will eventuate with the Network aviation purchase...?

Wonder what a/c they will throw onto Geraldton...?

Skywest will be on a heightened state of alert I'm sure...!
