Qantas and Passbook

I would be interested how you go with this. I can't seem to get the iPhone to check in on line - get a circular loop asking me to log in to my FF account.

Just did it. Worked as advertised. Now have my boarding pass in Passbook for tonight's flight.

Yes, sorry, should have described the process I used.

Checked in online using Qantas mobile site as per normal, then has option to 'Add to Passbook'. You still get the SMS link to boarding pass as well.

Cool thanks - not sure why I havent been able to OLCI on the iPhone. I wonder if it will retain old BPs... I would think using the card would be eaiser once you have OLCId.

I will post tomorrow if the boarding pass is still visible in Passbook. I agree, I will just use my card in future. Just did it this time to try it out. Knowing the battery life on my iPhone 5 if we be flat by my 1920 boarding time!

i used i with AA last month. was ok but didn't auto pop when i got to the checkin area like Apple claimed. More my fault i imagine. since IO6 battery life is shocking ill grant you.

Interesting Passbook is one of the only Apps that you can't control individually in location services.

If its anything like the Virgin ones, it should save them.
I still have some nice gold coloured Virgin ones, with some new black ones too... :)

Just did it for my flight tomorrow morning. If anyone is curious as to how it looks:

:)

That looks awesome, less than a month to go before I can try this :)

Wonder what happens if there's more than one in the booking? Or can you only check in one?

Can I just ask for a clarification here? The card mentioned above is your QFF card?
Last time I used card at the gate after OLCI (left printed boarding pass at home in printer) got beeped and chugged off to get new paper pass.

Yep I always use my FF card at the gate after OLCI. Only time it has beeped was when I was upgraded - even then it just printed a new docket at the gate.

You go through the process for each passenger on the booking (ie. one after another). It then asks for the pax's mobile number and sends a message with a link to the BP, while also showing the BP on the phone that completed OLCI. Then if your fellow pax click on the link that they are sent, they can click that button to import to Passbook :)

EDIT: I was hoping to try this today, but my flight has been delayed (tech), so I've been moved to a different flight with a paper BP. Can't find a way to reload the BP through the mobile portal or Passbook, so I'll have to wait until Saturday to try! :)

EDIT2: After landing in SYD, the 'Resend Boarding Pass' link reappeared on the mobile site, and I've downloaded my BP for tonight - see how it goes! :)

Sent from my iPhone using AustFreqFly app

Used it this morning for QF2220, but didn't bother for QF510 straight after (checked in for both flights last night and got both boarding passes in passbook). I didn't find it very exciting, I think I'd just as rather use my card.

They didn't disappear after the flights. Well, not for a couple of hours at least - then I deleted them. Actually the best part is the shredding animation when you delete them :)

Which supposedly got Scott Forstall fired ;)
