Qantas and Passbook

Has anyone actually got this to work with Qantas? I'm not sure this app supports Qantas, as I was not able to use it last Saturday.
Couldn't get it to work with PassWallet on my Wife's Android phone today for her booking but mine worked fine with Passbook on my iPhone 5

did it pop up appear on screen as you got to the airport or did you have look for it on your iPhone?

As a follow-up - once the Passbook BP finally scanned, it still spat out the docket BP (as though I had just scanned a QF FF card). I thought the advantage here would be that I could just hold the phone up when entering the aircraft and save wasting paper, but as it still requires a print-out, I'll likely just use my FF card - it seems to scan faster. It'll be a handy back-up for me if I'm ever without the card though! I suppose the piece of paper is also handy for jackets etc. :)

I've had no problems using Passbook BPs to enter lounges either - some staff give it a quick glance and wave you in the right direction based on the colour, and others have studied it closely and then used my name to direct me to the correct lounge (eg to the right in BNE).

Disappointing. Was on a delayed flight on Monday morning and expectec it to update the boarding time automatically. Wasn't that the whole point of passbook? Auto updates?

I'll stick to my FF card

I am still having trouble checking in on the iPhone so no passbook for me.

I think there is a requirement for a paper boarding pass in Oz for all pax. I too will be using the card still.

Some airports, and flights, require you to walk out across the tarmac to get to your plane, in those cases you'd show your phone, turn it off, get to the door of the plane and turn it back on just to turn it off again. Might be easier just to take a docket ;)

I somehow don't understand the benefit of risking the highly annoying Iphone 5 battery being empty by the time you board vs. the convenience of simply using our RFID-equipped QF frequent flyer cards :shock::confused:

Qantas have updated their use of passbook:

Qantas has announced enhanced functionality for its mobile boarding passes, which are available using the Apple Passbook app.
Customers who have added mobile boarding passes to their Passbook app will now receive real-time notifications if their flight details change, including gate and boarding time.

That actually happened to me. Fortunately I had my trusty FF card and boarded with that instead

Flew from CBR to SYD and SYD to OOL last Friday and used Passbook for my boarding pass. Today, two days later, the "real time" updates to the boarding time and gate number came through! Not so useful after all.

It's worked well for me.
Have used it for the last 4 flights and the gate info is great as it always takes me ages to find my flight on the boards.

Has anyone tried it for QantasLink flights? Never seems to work for me at BNE, ROK or MKY. This despite a small pool of gates so it wouldn't matter anyway.

I've been using it for MEL-MQL flights with no problems in terms of boarding the plane. However just this morning I received the departure gate information for a flight from 4 days ago. So a bit of a fail on that front. Also 2 weeks ago it didn't notify me of a flight delay either when leaving MQL.

Show with correct gates and update as you went?

I must have something buggered on my device. That and apparently it doesn't work from LRE - mobile checkin was disabled last weekend!

Plants still flowering by the way, not at fruit stage yet.

Don't know about the gates - Im guessing BNE was OK a she went straight to the correct gate, and EMD - well lets face it, a bit hard to screw up ;)

I have been using passbook since basically it was released on QF and VA and LOVE it! No more paper boarding passing cluttering up the place :)
