Have just been advised of QANTAS Airline Initiated Cancellation of a DSC Flight segment in March. A new ticket will be issued for the all the flights but the original booking number and flights will be retained except for one segment. Hopelly fellow AFFs with similar experience can advise me if I will still be eligible for DSC on these Qantas flights? Thank you in advance for your advise.

Solution
You may have to follow up with QFF, but it is Original Routing Credit (ORC) that you will be requesting stating that the changes were made by QF and not by yourself.
@FrequentFlyer7 - very similar story to me. Had changes in flights, got off the plane, they had pushed me up to gold. Next day, back to silver with the DSC removed. Let me know how you go with the email. I was going to call but want to give them some space given the low priority of my enquiry.

Hmm, not sure where to go with this one now. It appears the email was treated as a request for missing double status credits.

I sent a very detailed email regarding the request for my flights to be reviewed, and the 'original routing credit' to be applied. The email set out the original flights, with a copy of the itinerary, the details of the flights they changed me to, and a copy of the boarding passes. (I have already received credits for the flights they changed me to, and the associated double status credits. These appeared in my account the day after each flight was made! (80 SC short of the original booking).

It appears that the email was not even read, (or understood), as I have already received a reply stating that they have checked my booking number and that the booking qualifies for the double status credit promotion. It goes on to say that the double status credits for the flights that I flew on would be applied to my account within 6 weeks, as per the terms and conditions of the promotion. Case closed.

I've sent them a polite reply pointing out that there may have been a misunderstanding regarding my request, and asked if they could review my e-mail. The story continues.

The story continues.

I understand that this situation you are currently in might be frustrating and I have personally been there ... with flight cancellations and not getting the right amount of SC (or DSC, for that matter).

If the email is not taking you anywhere - trust me, it never got me what I wanted from QF, ever. So I'd be picking up the phone and having a chat with the CSO. Now, in the times of the pandemic we are in, I realise that it would be next to impossible to get someone from QF over the phone to look into your issue. But I have had some success in getting someone from QF over the phone.

I had to call up after 11 PM AEST. I think this is because the call gets routed to an offshore CC and there will be someone to answer the phone with limited wait time. In my case I had to wait 4 minutes before someone answered the phone and was more than happy to get my issue sorted.

Now, I also realise that staying up that late to get SC from QF might not be everyone's way to go, but, I usually stay up late and so picking the phone that late was also not an issue

Good luck !

Well, to my shock, I received a reply to my follow up e-mail this morning. (I expected this to take weeks/months in the current environment.) The e-mail started with an apology for miss-reading the original request, and went on to say that all flights and double status credits had been credited to my account (and my wife's account) in line with the original booking. Well done Qantas!

Hopefully I will be able to use my new Gold status in the not to distant future. :)

Oh ye of little faith.
I never really doubted that it would be fixed, but it certainly surprised me that it was fixed so quickly. I expected this to take some time in the current environment. Again, well done Qantas Frequent Flyer Service Centre.

(I just sent them a thankyou for their prompt service and wished them the best for the coming weeks/months)

If you accept the voucher, then the new offer is to have the voucher valid until 31/12/21. (Vouches previously issued with an earlier date will automatically be extended until 31/12/21.)
However if you had a DSC booking made in Feb this year, the travel date for the DSC was until 14/2/21. I hope that DSCs will be allowed with the voucher until Dec 2022, allowing for a booking with the voucher on 31/12/21 and the flight date being (almost) 12 months later.

I'm sorry but... seriously?

No. This is not a reasonable expectation. At least in my opinion

This is literally wanting your cake and eating it too.. with double toppings added too.

I think QF's latest change to extend the credit vouchers will 31 Dec 21 is very very generous. To expect a promotion like DSC to apply to ALL bookings made with that voucher up till a year later? come on. You're taking the piss right?

Besides, it's almost certain that when things ramp up again they will through promos at all and sundry - DSC, heck maybe more.. It's as certain as I am verbose.

So relax. enjoy extended validity credit vouchers and don't get too greedy huh?

Although I’m not affected by the DSC offers, I think that we are still allowed to hope (and dream) of such delightful possibilities. 🙂

by all means dream. I am a past master of dreaming for unobtainable things :D

I just hope people would not seriously expect something like this (and potentially get upset if it doesn't happen).

Each to their own.

Hi,
New member here...what is DSC flight segment?

Welcome Belindabee.

"DSC" stands for Double Status Credits - ie a booking made eligible under the recent (Feb, seems like a year ago!) Double Status Credits promotion.

hope that helps :)
Thank you for answering my question. I see so many acronyms on this site, some I know and some I don't. So once agin thank you for helping me, I appreciate it!!
