Qantas Advance Seat Selection Issues

Hi all. Hoping you could me. On wednesday I am flying PER to BNE on QF652. I usually never have an issue with getting a seat in the first 5 rows however this time around I can only manage row 31. I have checked expertflyer and a lot of seats are blocked and are yet to be released. Is QF no longer releasing them T-80?

T-80 is still in play, I use it every week to choose my seats. The good seats may be taken already.

That doesn't sound promising. Are there a lot of issues with expertflyer incorrectly displaying blocked seats instead of occupied?
