file51, do you have an idea of your boss's reasons? Are they the same as hoops's ?
Interesting. Or rather, concerning for QF.
If it's a recurring theme, the good PR will only last for a while until the frequent travellers wise up.
OK, after having a chance to extract some more information here are the reasons (as stated previously, pretty much the same as has been already said in this thread).
* Inexperienced crew, some of which appeared to have not worked in a premium cabin before and requests such as a drink refill were huffed over.
* Expectation of a much better seat, i.e. fully flat, MKII, etc etc. Only thing that was found to be better was the video screen, much better than in the shell of the seat in front
* Increased foot traffic in aisle by staff during what would normally be considered sleep time
* Extremely long delays in regards to being served meals and having tray tables cleared
* On a personal note my boss preferred the more intimate environment of the 744 J class over the wide expansive spaces in the A388
He did like the new-ness of the A388, and obviously things like the service will improve as with speed of service, however in the coming year or so he will opt for the 744 service which he has been happy with for the past 5-6 years.
