Qantas A330-200 cabin refurbishments

Yes my understanding is that the small flight crew rest facility behind the coughpit s integral on all A332s
But the much larger lower deck crew rest facility is modular and can be swapped in or out.
So I was expressing surprise that QF had never put one in. during refurbishment as their usage of the A332s changed.

It’s only for the BNE-LAX flights? Or BLR as well? So would likely be uneconomical given you’d need to do at least 2 planes to cover the rotation, and then lose cargo capacity for other flights if you’re swapping them around.

VH-EBC was ferried to MEL today as QF6132 after operating QF54 per the provisional plan posted on airliners.net.

The A332 don't have the crew rest behind the flight deck unlike the A333. When they did the refurbishment of the A332L, they added a pilot rest at doors 2. For the LAX (and DEL) flight, a business seat is also blocked off.

The larger underfloor rest comes at the cost of cargo which is why they opted for the block of seats in economy approach, given that those longer flights have weight restrictions anyway.

Nothing's a precise match (particularly in terms of J seats), but the 7 321XLRs are arguably doing the job the 332 Ds used to do.

You've also had the recent delivery of the 2nd hand 333 VH-QPM

I think any PAX flying to or from PER especially in J would argue that the current A321XLRs do the job of a B7378 not an A332!

Was more thinking about the additional 787s ordered which were flagged as A330 replacements but don't arrive until 2028.
