For those of us in Economy, which lounge will we have access to? As a Qantas Gold, I usually get access to the Qantas Club lounge, but read that if this lounge is closed passengers will be directed to the Business lounge (as happened to me in Sydney in March). Do we know if there is a special place we're meeting/event before the flight?

See the Sydney thread for a suggestion of what is likely to happen in Brisbane and Canberra.

This is my first time at an AFF gathering, but I can pax you into the Business lounge as a guest If need be (although it sounds like you’ll probably be re-diverted into that lounge anyway).

There is apparently a morning tea before the flight for all guests so my plan is breakfast beforehand in the lounge then mingle wherever the morning tea is (presumably at / near the gate.)

Great thanks, have had a look. Looks like we'll probably get an email tomorrow about it with more details.

Thank you! We'll see what happens with the email. This is my first time at an event too, looking forward to meeting people - people on here have been really nice! Your breakfast plan sounds like the way to go, too - might stay up there over night on Tuesday.

Managed to grab 54K! WP so happy to guest into the J lounge if required.

Anyone managed to grab one of the main deck J seats 6A/K, 7A/K, 8A/K and planning on taking video of startup, taxi, takeoff etc with the great view of the wing and engines? Happy to swap footage/photos from behind the wing.

For those not on board and wanting to see today's flight here's the planned route (weather and ATC permitting):

Depart 19L

Right turn to fly-by BNE CBD at 2,000ft.

U-turn North of BNE for another CBD pass at 2,000ft for those on the other side of the aircraft.

Climb and track south to Tweed Heads.

From there, track north along the coast at 2,000ft. Good views of the Gold Coast.

Return to BNE for low-level pass of the new RWY19R.

Circle to land.
