Does anyone know if you receive SC's when flying LAN? They are part of one world. I'm booked on a "J " class flight from SYD to AKL. I only need 110 SC's for QF gold, Qantas site shows you'll receive 120 SC on a QF flight.

Please help

Yes, LAN is eligible for SC earn, as long as you're booked in an eligible class.

Refer to LAN's section under : Frequent Flyer - About the Program - Terms & Conditions

In your case, I suspect you're on a D fare in Business, so yes points/sc's should be earned.

BTW - are you sure on the 120sc's? My calculations only show 80 are earned. (Actually, I assume you've added PER-SYD in Full Economy and SYD-AKL in Business together to get the 120. )...

Thanks for your help. Here comes Gold I hope.

Nige,

I would keep your booking passes and eticket. If you are bumped to another flight as I was in both directions, you will still get SC's but will need to apply to QF directly.

The return is OMG hour AKL and I would check to see if the plane is in the air before turning in that evening prior to return.

I hope you got the I fare. Another good SC earner is SYD-NAN on the very delighful Air Pacific (old AN metal I understand).

Enjoy the trip.

cheers

Thanks Spruce,

BNE-MEL-SYD-NAN-SYD-MEL-BNE is 360 SC's for $1300 in J with QF.

Hi Markis10, $1300 which website did you see that flight? I cant find anything close to that traveling any month.

It's only available one day a week and is a little complicated to book, but it's on the QF website.

You will almost certainly need to keep your BP's / ticket if you want the full SCs earnt for this trip as LAN have a notorious 99% strike rate for failing to post SCs on the AKL-SYD leg - not so for the SYD-AKL for some strange reason?
Just search these forums to find others (myself included) frustration.

Sam, its not complicated to book and is available everyday of the week when there are seats available, just do a multicity BNE-MEL and MEL- NAN as two legs in J and then the reverse for the return. There are issues with availability late June during school hols but apart from that its easy to find and book. The one day a week option is when you dont want to overnight in NAN, that involves getting the MEL-NAN flight which is 20 SC's less than the SYD option.

Do you mean SYD-AKL return in J for $700? Which website are you looking at? LAN.com is quoting $1098 for a return SYD-AKL in J.

Henk,

Select your base country as USA and make sure you tick the box for 'Find the best price on alternate dates' The price will come up at around $US577 incl taxes.

Where did you find the $700 J fare. I have heard of this bargain a few times on here, but have yet to find it!

Grateful for any assistance.

Short of flying to BNE then starting the trip I dont think you have much of an option, there is a very good SC run ex ADL using any seat awards but it would be hard to tie it into a NAN run.

BrisVegas Traveller,

Have a look at my post #15 above :!:

Alternately if you buy it from AKL to SYD and return it is nearly always there.
