QA vs BA Premium Economy

Hi,

I am interested in hearing reviews and comparisons between Qantas and British airways premium economy class.

Out of these two airlines, which has the most comfortable seat?

There is no comparison, BA's product is completely inferior to QF's

Totally agree with previous post - no comparison. BA's Premium Economy product (World Traveller Plus) has been around for a number of years now and although good when released it is no comparison to the new(ish) Qantas Premium Economy.

I have flown BA's World Traveller Plus to/from LHR via Singapore twice - in 2003 and 2005. I have flown Premium Economy with QF to/from LAX, but have not yet sat in the standard PE seats (my flight over was in a Skybed - Business - seat, and flight back upgraded to Business).

The main difference with BA's Y+ and Y cabins is that you are served meals first, the seats are 2-4-2 config, and a couple of inches more leg room.
QF is newer, I haven't sat in the seats, but the Y+ food and beverage on QF are more like J- than Y+. My pre-departure drinks on the way to LAX were champagne, the same bottle of Charles Heidseck was being used in the business class cabin. It was not sparkling wine.
Even though I haven't yet sat in the actual Y+ seats on QF (I may in 7 weeks, if our upgrade request doesn't come through), I would definitely agree that QF's product is superior to BA's.

Advantages of BA's WT+ over QF's PE:

- WT+ is normally much cheaper than PE.

Qantas wins everything else.

Am also of the opinon that there is absolutely no competition. QF wins hands down.

I travelled WT+ from Toronto to LHR last year and was terribly disappointed. After having travelled QF before, I guess I was expecting a similar product. Katie puts it well: QF is more like J- than Y+.

Interestingly, when I am looking at FF redemption, PE point redemtions are the same for BA and QF. I know which one I would choose!

In agreement with most of the posts. Flew JFK/LHR/JED then KWI/LHR/BOS last June in BA. Seats were tired, footrests wonky, entertainment boxes in footspace caused a nasty bruise. Service on most legs was average, except for LHR/JED where i was the only pax in the class.

In October, did SYD/LAX/SYD in QF Y+. on way over is was the J seats and the food, bevs and serivce was more like J than Y. On way back had the new Y+ seats in a 747 and they were definitely worth the money compared to Y.

Summary - QF wins by a big margin.

I view Qantas Premium Economy as a J- product, while I view BA World Traveller Plus as an Y+ products.

Qantas PE offers the same beverage list as J and the food is a variation on the J menu plated and served on a single tray. BA WT+ offers the same food/beverage as WT.

Thanks for the advice . I ended up going with QA PE - I have flown VA PE in the past which I enjoyed, but this time around the deals where better on BA/QA.
