Hey Guys

Thanks to a Qantas' Double Status Credit Promo that was offered to me I have been able to rack up 1,480 SC's since my review date of 30 JUN 2011.

WOO HOO! Finally Platinum!

Since I now have 9 months before my next review date does anyone think that it is worth pushing to earn the next 920 SC's to get to the "next" level of benefits at 2,400 SC’s?

I am really the only person in my immediate family that travels to the extent that a Gold Frequent Flyer membership would be useful so the only remaining benefits would be the valet/transfer vouchers or the 50,000 Points.

Or, since Velocity Frequent Flyer matched my current Platinum status, do I invest some money with Virgin Australia to re-qualify for Velocity Platinum for 800 SC’s?

As work for the Australian Government and I’m required to “share the love” by splitting my travel between both carriers so Platinum membership of both programs would come in handy.

Any advice and guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers!

I think you have answered the question already, in my case it was head over to DJ once hitting the requal mark unless QF schedules make more sense. 900 SCs for 50000 points is a joke to be frank (thats $100 of value in terms of replacement points), to the point that I am about to hit LTG so will not even bother with WP requal since the new changes were announced earlier this year, I dont think WP is worth it let alone 2500 SCs, unless those SCs come cheaply.

I’d try and re-qualify with Velocity, at the end of the day, having both is better than having one super-uber status and another that’s much lesser so.

2400 SCs is not super-uber status though, its just like a water bottle station on the long marathon!
