Purchasing One-Way Flight Departing Bangkok

Hi all,

I'm looking to purchase an one-way ticket from Bangkok to Fukuoka in Japan on 29 of June. I didn't know where to start but I just checked all the major airlines' websites.

I found China Airlines is the cheapest at about $550 (12,720 THB), with others either about double the price (Thai, Cathay Pacific), or simply not available (Singapore).

Cathay Pacific (Thailand) has a fare of 14090 THB returned, but the fare is only until March 31.

I'm a little bit puzzled at why the prices vary so much and would like to get some advice on buying one-way flights departing a foreign country.

Yep, that looks to be a decent cheap price. I had a look and cant see anything cheaper. You could risk just waiting and purchasing later.
I also took a look at other airports like KIX/NRT etc that you could maybe then train to cough but no better price wise that i could see.

Should not be a problem booking a flight(s) ex-Bangkok. You need to consider that most websites and local travel agents will ask to see the credit card or fax/email an authority form and front and back of the credit card prior to issuing the ticket. Qantas is one that readily comes to mind.

I would be wary of the Cathay WHY fare in case it is not eligible for miles/points earning. Have you tried any Bangkok travel agents? There are a few around and some of them are very helpful/ and respond to emails very quickly.
