... am concerned that I wont have overhead storage.
747 Zone A rules:

Rule 1: Be at gate when boarding commences.
Rule 2: Board ASAP.
Rule 3: All OHSB's are fair game.
Rule 4: See rules 1, 2 & 3.

There is that little bar thing in front of 3EF isn't there on the FRA 744?

I believe so based on the picture from qantas source. Only saw that for the first time yesterday. I thought the thread about NM's favorite seats said about the storage space in front of 4E/F. I'll have to double check in light of Serfty's advice.

No overhead thats for sure, what is in the front storage area is not clear in this pic;

The QANTAS Source - 3 Class Boeing 747-400 Seat Map.

Bizarrely my A/C seems to have been subbed with a 4 class sold as 2 so now I am in 2K.

Got a notification that my seat moved to 3F (I hadnt made the change) so I checked the seat map and looks like a sub!

F seat - J service :)

I have been trying to work out why this sub would have happened as there is no reason for them to need to have F seats SYD-FRA.

I assume that they need additional F capacity SIN-LHR thus positioning F seats in SIN.

Any thoughts?

Yep, the will be another two class heading to AVV shortly for conversion to three class, so two class routes are being changed to 4 class birds to fill the gap.

Thanks - it is very sad that when I saw the change in seat that pretty much my first thought was to check on line to see if it is was an equipment sub to an F seat... I need a life...

With the A380s being offline I guess aircraft are being subbed all over the place at the moment. Cheers skip

Is there overhead storage above 3/4EF on the no-F 744?

I am flying SDYD-SIN-DEL (connecting to 9W in DEL) and have allocated 3B but some fscker has now grabbed 3A. I am thinking of moving to 3E (3F is showing as empty currently and even if filled they wont be climbing over me) but am concerned that I wont have overhead storage.

Sorry, I'm being a bit slow but it finally occurred to me. You mention 3E/F on the no-F 744 and I can see those seats on Expert flyer. But they aren't showing on Qantas seat maps or in seat selection on the 3-class no-F aircraft.

Am I missing something, is expert flyer wrong?

You are not missing anything:

  • ExpertFlyer is showing "ghost" seats (they indicate is the info the receive from the GDS)
  • 3E/F do not exist on 2 or 3 class Qantas 744 configurations

Put it somewhere else. Be first on!
