As a Lifetime Gold, I thought Business Rewards have same expiry protection based on the main account holder. Silly me.

Unless you're Business Rewards Gold, points expire in this account after 18 months of no activity.

Don't think it's worth fighting for 3,500 points (especially when I had to spend 120k points for 2x Y SYD-MCY(!!))

But please don't make the same mistake I did.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

I had to spend 120k points for 2x Y SYD-MCY(!!))
Were they classic plus? Because usual classic award should be 9.2k points per person SYD-MCY, even J is only 38.6k points per person.

Not sure what you’re actually warning about?

You have LTG but still lost some points?

As others have said, the reward booked was terrible value. If trying to preserve QF points from expiry, there’s dozens of cheap ways to do that. WW Rewards, QF Wine, etc etc

Ok...

You as Lifetime Gold have no "expiry protection". No QF status does (even Chairmans Lounge), everyone plays by the same 18 month rule.

Unless you're Business Rewards Gold
You have just made up a new tier. Business rewards come in three levels, you can't reach a higher level without point earning. The underlying frequent flyer status makes ZERO difference to business rewards perks.

Don't think it's worth fighting for 3,500 points
So the total points expired after 18 months is 3500? 🤣 🤣

(especially when I had to spend 120k points for 2x Y SYD-MCY(!!))
As others have said and you agreed, you clearly booked a classic plus. 120k points at 1c per point Y value (classic plus is a fixed value) meaning you paid ~$600 each way, a total waste of points when VA or JQ would have likely been cheaper, likewise you booking this would have reset the 18 month expiry had you transferred the full amount of points out of Qantas business rewards.

But please don't make the same mistake I did.
The policies are published and you ignored them. The 18 month expiry has been apart of the program for over 25 years and business rewards since introduction follows that same logic.

Yes, I pondered that but wasn’t clear.

True, but pretty hard if you’re flying, buying wine, staying in QF hotels or other things.
I have multiple QBR accounts. So my secondary one is definitely one i don't pay as much attention to.
