That means your FF number is not correctly entered into the AA booking. When done correctly; as a WP your BP should show EMERALD.I usually find I just end up with GROUP X according to where I'm sitting- I've been a QF gold for a few years now and only rarely has it said SAPPHIRE on the boarding pass. Could because I'm usually travelling on QF codeshares on AA and the system doesn't register it. At least once I've gone to the gate with my FF card and they said "well, what does it say on your boarding pass?" in line with the "great" service I've come to expect from AA!
This priority seating is not new - Certain seats, including exit row seats, have long been reserved for AAdvantage elites. it's been around for a few years at least. What IS new, is that these seat are now shown to all (except for exit rows) when selecting seats, it just that only AA elites can select them.I was wondering about the seating thing though- I see AA has the new priority seating at the front of Y but it doesn't let you book this unless you are an AA tier member it seems. I'm QF plat at the moment and I tried going into the AA site for my next trip (and the flights ticketed AND operated by AA this time) but doesn't allow it. Seems strange.
