Priority Privilege worth it?

It is too bad it has to end this way.. As markis10 has pointed out there is some great value that can be extracted... But the customer service resolution and the verbal agreements which muck up the transaction (especially as the price rises) make it challenging to continue. I asked for a 2nd opinion recently after I felt a HI dining promotion was not implemented correctly (why would I want a complimentary bottle of wine worth 30$ and forego my 50℅ dining discount... Which is more valuable hence I interpret the wine as being over and above the 50%). There was no real means of recourse to fix the problem...

Another update......

I've now received another call from the salesman who sold me the renewal package. He agreed with everything I said and even claimed to argue with his boss who said he shouldn't have offered the 2nd bottle of wine. In short (again) he's sending out the whole renewal pack with the vouchers for 2 bottles of wine to $80. Should be here in a few weeks.........

Did I hear someone say Groundhog Day?

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Just do an online renewal with a fake phone number, problem solved, the value in the program should mean it sells itself, but I suppose second hand car dealers do need an opportunity to change careers.

I recently happened to log into THAT online auction site ...

and picked up a 'buy now' ( for just $12. ) set of PP vouchers.

Got 1 x BOGO; 2 x 25% discount; 2 x Member for a Day, and a Breakfast for Two voucher.

Expiry this month, but hey, I have another Sydney IC booking for that BOGO.

Interesting ..didn't think there would be a market for it ...then again there is a market for many things!

I often wondered if australianfrequentflyer.com.au had a forum for trading ...do they?

AFF does not permit trading. As for buying the PP vouchers, unless they are transferable, they are somewhat useless. Be a bit embarrassing being turned away on checkin or having to pay the extra night.

All Transferable ...

I've even been able to get non-transferable vouchers through, as long as you present with a current Member card ...

Thanks markis10 -- please point me to an FAQ if this is answered elsewhere but does AFF permit buying/selling. Say for example we wanted to sell Certs (transferable) to each other in this forum here so that each party can benefit (one from unloading a cert. they can't use the other to get a great discount). Permitted?

You will find the details strangely enough in the FAQ

The PP Newsletter offers seem quite reasonable this time around ... ( May / June 2014 )

More than the average 'stay for two nights for price of one', and 'keep your voucher' ...

and note the Parramatta Holiday Inn offer for inhouse dining ...

"50% off the ENTIRE bill". That's drinks / wine included. No restriction on Mothers' Day ( I did this last year ).

.
The deal at Holiday Inn Melbourne Airport is pretty good...
"Save up to 30% off the Best Flexible Rate and receive 7 nights free car parking"

Pity its outside and uncovered. I quite like that hotel, always seems reasonable value for an airport hotel even if the bathrooms are so so, of all the Travelodges in the same style I think it and the one in Port Moresby are the only ones left in the IHG fold.

CP Surfers use to be a Travelodge as well. (though not sure if it's the same style).

Agreed it does. Like that 50% offer.

Anybody get availability for the 2 for 1 on Fri/Sat/Sun in JUNE for Canberra? I see May availability but nothing in June??

Out of interest - I have never stayed there - what is the 'style' of these Travelodge's? I am thinking Grand Budapest Hotel (a la Wes Anderson) but obviously that is overdoing it.

Not the same iconic style, and it was a travelodge and park royal combined.
