Priority pass for airport lounges

We are thinking about buying a Priority Pass to use in lounges at airports when we fly to and from U.K. this year .Has one-one used one 'if so are they good ?and which site did you purchase it from ?? :?:

It's value depends on a few things, such as current lounge access rights and where you are going; tbh, going to/from UK I doubt that PP will be that good value

At LHR there are a cpl of lounges that provide paid access ( and iirc are what PP use anyway )

In Australia, they have access to a lounge at Pier C in Sydney and to a lounge in Melbourne

If you are travelling QF/BA you'll be better off purchasing a QF Club membership imo compared with USD99 + USD24 per person per access ( or of course looking at whether a CT Challenge will sort u out). If travelling another airline might be worth looking whether there is any other airline lounge scheme worth considering

Thanks for reply .We are going via K.L. so expect we will be on Malalysia air or .KLM .A m interested in paying to go into lounges if I know where and how .Also if you are a Qantas club member can you use their lounges even if you dont fly with them :?:

Paid Qantas Club members can only use the Qantas Club lounges when flying on the same day with Qantas.

Qantas Platinum FF members can use any Qantas Club lounge anytime, even when not flying. Obviously you need to be able to get to the lounge, so if it is beyond the security screening (such as international terminals) you must have the necessary paperwork to entitle you to get into the terminal.

As Dave mentioned, it depends on where you're going (through). It also depends on the what you want the lounge for - as they're never 'Priority Pass' lounges, they can be airline lounges, or they can be airport lounges run by the airport or other companies. Therefore, facilities will also vary, e.g., they often don't have showers.

In KL, there is the Plaza Premium Lounge available for Priority Pass. It's airside and has the following facilities:

- Air-conditioning
- Telephone
- Information (whatever that means)
- Internet / Dataport
- Newspapers and magazines
- Refreshments (alcoholic drinks are limited to beers only)
- Showers
- Fax

This is from their web site.

The public side of the site only shows a list of lounges. It doesn't say what facilities the lounges have.

And in KL that means a choice of Tiger or Carlsberg :shock: . Finding anything else in KL can prove challenging.

thanks again for replys.We hope to use lounges in Melbourne 'K.L. [is it because it's a muslim country that you can only have beer ? ] and Heathrow .We are not ones for airport shopping and would like some-where quiet and a drink or two before flights

That is part of the story. Other alcoholic beverages are readily available in other lounges (including MH's Golden Lounge and the CX lounge, being the only two I have used at KUL) and throughout Malaysia.

Even beers other than Tiger and Carlesberg (which is brewed in Malaysia) are available. But those two are available everywhere that sells/provides beer and anything else if likely to cost a fair bit more.

Alcoholic beverages are generally expensive in Malaysia, especially compared with the price of food and other things. Its all imported (except Carlesberg beer) and I assume has a very high import duties.

Melbourne is the United Red Carpet Club

Location Airside - Level 1, Satellite Area.
Opening Hours 08.15 - 11.15 daily.
Conditions All immediate family members can enter a Red Carpet Club with a member, but the number of persons who are not immediate family will be limited to two (2) at any one visit - Cardholder must be 18 years of age or older - Cash bar, complimentary soft drinks - Non-smoking.

Assuming you're flying Malaysian...

Heathrow Terminal 3 - you have 2 choices
Lounge KUWAIT AIRWAYS - OASIS LOUNGE
Location Airside - through the main Departure Lounge and doorway 12A. Pass Duty Free and a set of doors and take the stairs/lift to the 1st floor. The Lounge is situated to the right.
Opening Hours 06.30 - 10.00 Monday, Wednesday, Friday & Sunday. 06.30 - 10.00 & 11.00 - 14.45 Tuesday & Saturday. 06.30 - 10.00 & 10.30 - 13.45 Thursday. Hours are subject to schedule changes.
Conditions Children 6 years and under are admitted free.

Lounge SERVISAIR GLOBEGROUND LOUNGE
Location Airside - proceed through Departures into the Departure Lounge. Go through the doors towards Gates 2-55 and follow signs to Gate 12A. Take the lift or stairs to the 2nd floor, go through the double doors, turn right and follow the corridor round.
Opening Hours 06.30 - 22.30 daily.
Conditions Smart casual dress at all times (no shorts allowed) - Cigarette smoking in designated areas only.
Additional Info Flight information is only available upon request.

None of these 3 lounges have showers. (I'm too lazy to translate their facilities icons into words.)

I was in this lounge at KUL in December (free access to *G) and I think they did have shower facilities (nothing flash though). You can also pay at the lounge door if you don't have any club memberships - USD 22 per person I think. Probably the way to go.

A Priority Pass would have been handy (I don't have one) this morning at CMB airport. I have a 23 hour layover and there isn't a *A lounge as such, just 3 private lounges, one of which accepts the PP. I am flying SQ business class, which requires a lounge invitation which you get at check in (which I can't do for another 15 hours or so). Luckily, I bumped into the Singapore Airlines CMB station manager, explained my plight to him, and hey presto, lounge access was granted. I wouldn't rely on this happening every time though.
